Abstract

A device to aid in conditioning a baseball glove, namely in the formation and/or maintenance of a baseball pocket, typically includes one or more balls, two or more securement members for maintaining the glove in a closed position with the ball inside the glove, the securement member being defined by one or more looped cord or strap members, a pair of elongated bistable spring members, or a pair of elongated bendable rod members, and a means for coupling the securement members to the one or more balls. The ball is placed in a baseball glove proximate a desired location for the baseball pocket, and the securement members are fed through a slot defined between two of the fingers of the glove and wrapped around the exterior of the glove to force the ball deeper into the desired location for the baseball pocket and secure the glove around the ball.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A device to aid in conditioning a baseball glove having at least one through slot interposing an interior and an exterior of the glove, said device comprising:
a ball member having an internal diametral cavity extending there through; at least one securement member adapted to extend through said diametral cavity disposed in said ball member, said at least one securement being adapted such that at least a portion of said securement member can extend through a spaced between two fingers of the glove, whereby upon placing said ball member in the baseball glove proximate a desired location for a baseball pocket, said portion of said securement member is fed between two fingers of the baseball glove and wrapped around the exterior of the baseball glove to secure said ball member tightly therein.

2 . The device of claim 1 wherein said securement member is defined by at least one looped cord member.

3 . The device of claim 2 , further comprising a panel member provided to each of said at least one looped cord member to aid in inserting said cord member through the slot, the panel member including a location for identifying indicia.

4 . The device of claim 2 wherein said device comprises two ball members coupled together and means for coupling said two ball members together.

5 . The device of claim 3 , wherein said panel member further includes a mating means such that each said panel member may be mated to another said panel member.

6 . The device of claim 2 wherein said device further comprises a least one clip member carried by said at least one looped cord member.

7 . The device of claim 1 wherein said securement member is defined by a pair of elongated bistable spring members.

8 . The device of claim 1 wherein said securement member is defined by a pair of elongated bendable rod members.

9 . The device of claim 1 wherein said securement member is defined by at least one strap member.

10 . A device to aid in conditioning a baseball glove having at least one through slot interposing an interior and an exterior of the glove, said device comprising:
at least one ball member, said ball member having an internal diametral cavity extending there through; and a pair of elongated bistable spring members extending through said internal diametral cavity provided in said at least one ball member, whereby said at least one ball member is placed in a baseball glove proximate a desired location for a baseball pocket, distal ends of said pair of elongated bistable spring members are fed between two fingers of the baseball glove and allowed to coil around the exterior of the baseball glove to secure said at least one ball member tightly therein.

11 . The device of claim 10 wherein said device comprises two ball members coupled together and means for coupling said two ball members together.

12 . The device of claim 10 wherein said device further comprises a least one clip member carried by said at least one looped cord member.

13 . A device to aid in conditioning a baseball glove having at least one through slot interposing an interior and an exterior of the glove, said device comprising:
at least one ball member, said ball member having an internal diametral cavity extending there through; and a pair of elongated bendable rod members extending through said internal diametral cavity provided in said at least one ball member, whereby said at least one ball member is placed in a baseball glove proximate a desired location for a baseball pocket, distal ends of said pair of elongated bendable rod members are fed between two fingers of the baseball glove and wrapped around the exterior of the baseball glove and twisted together to secure said at least one ball member tightly therein.

14 . The device of claim 13 wherein said device comprises two ball members coupled together and means for coupling said two ball members together.
