Abstract
An apparatus and method for treating subject materials with compositions includes a material treatment section for treating a subject material with a composition of a silane-containing material and a hydrocarbon solvent to form a treated material, and a neutralizing section for neutralizing the treated material such that the treated material has a pH in a range of approximately 7 to approximately 8.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system for treating subject materials with compositions, said system, comprising:
a material treatment section for treating a subject material with a composition comprising a silane-containing material to form a treated material; a neutralizing section for neutralizing the treated material such that the treated material has a pH in a range of approximately 7 to approximately 8.
2 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a removal section for removing at least one of moisture, a hydrocarbon solvent, and a byproduct of reaction from the treated material.
3 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a feeding section for feeding the subject material to the material treatment section.
4 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a collecting section for collecting the treated material.
5 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a drying section for drying the treated material.
6 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a composition section for forming the composition.
7 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including an applicator in the material treatment section for applying the composition to the subject material.
8 . A system as set forth in claim 7 wherein said applicator is a liquid applicator for applying a liquid composition to the subject material.
9 . A system as set forth in claim 7 and further including a vapor applicator for applying a vapor composition to the subject material.
10 . A system as set forth in claim 1 wherein said neutralizing section applies steam to the treated material in a neutralizing chamber.
11 . A system as set forth in claim 1 wherein said neutralizing section is configured to apply a base-containing material to the treated material in a neutralizing chamber to neutralize the treated material.
12 . A system as set forth in claim 3 wherein said feeding section comprises a feeder to feed a roll of the subject material to the material treatment section.
13 . A system as set forth in claim 4 and further including a collector for collecting the treated material in the collecting section.
14 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a removal section for removing a solvent from the treated material in a removal section of the apparatus.
15 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a removal section for removing a byproduct of reaction for the treated material.
16 . A system for treating subject materials with compositions, said system comprising:
a material treatment section for treating the subject material in the material treatment section with a composition comprising a silane-containing material to form a treated material a feeding section for feeding a subject material to the material treatment section; a neutralizing section for neutralizing the treated material such that the treated material has a pH in a range of approximately 7 to approximately 8; and a collector for collecting the treated material.
17 . A system as set forth in claim 16 and further including a removal section for removing at least one of moisture, a hydrocarbon solvent, and a byproduct of reaction from the treated material.
18 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a dryer for drying the treated material.
19 . A system as set forth in claim 1 and further including a forming section for forming the composition.
20 . A system for treating subject materials with compositions, said system comprising:
a material treatment section for treating the subject material with a composition comprising a silane-containing material and a solvent to form a treated material; a feeding section for feeding a subject material to the material treatment section; a neutralizing section for neutralizing the treated material such that the treated material has a pH in a range of approximately 7 to approximately 8; and a collector for collecting the treated material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
