Abstract
The invention provides prognostic methods for evaluating the severity of NMO and NMO-associated diseases as well as methods of treating NMO and NMO-associated diseases.

administering an effective amount of an antibody to an individual having NMO, wherein the antibody is an anti-NMO antigen antibody having specific binding affinity for a NMO antigenic polypeptide.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the antibody comprises a label.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the label is an imaging agent.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the imaging agent is selected from the group consisting of 32 P, 99 Tc, 111 In and 131 I.
17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the effective amount is an amount of from about 0.1 mCi to about 50.0 mCi.
18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the effective amount is an amount of from about 0.01 mg to about 100 mg.
19 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the antibody is administered to the individual parenterally.
