Collaborative recommendation system

Abstract

A collaborative information system in which a first display device provides a recommendation of programming content to a viewer of a second display device, where the recommendation is based on content characteristics of the recommended content, and where the recommendation is based on assigning those content characteristics respectively different weights.

1 . A system comprising:
 (a) a first display device providing first data descriptive of audiovisual content;   (b) wherein said first data includes a list of recommended said audiovisual content;   (c) providing said first data including said list to a second audiovisual device to provide a recommendation of audiovisual content.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1  wherein said recommendation is based upon a request for said list by said second audiovisual device. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1  wherein said list is modified based upon changes in consumed audiovisual content. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1  wherein said list is a secondary list that excludes content selected for consumption. 
     
     
         5 . A system comprising:
 (a) a first display device receiving first data descriptive of audiovisual content;   (b) wherein said first data includes an identification of the first display device and the general portion of said audiovisual content currently being consumed;   (c) receiving said first data from a second audiovisual device to obtain a recommendation of audiovisual content.
