Abstract
Carpet seam tape for joining two carpet segments comprises an elongated base layer being resilient in a transverse direction, an intervening layer applied to the base layer, and an adhesive applied to the intervening layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat which is claimed:
1 . Carpet seam tape for joining two carpet segments, the carpet seam tape comprising:
an elongated base layer being resilient in a transverse direction; an intervening layer applied to the base layer; and an adhesive applied to the intervening layer.
2 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive comprises a hot-melt thermoplastic adhesive.
3 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the base layer comprises textile or fabric.
4 . The carpet seam tape of claim 3 , wherein the textile or fabric comprises (a) cotton and elastane or (b) denim and elastane.
5 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive comprises (a) a unitary mass of adhesive, (b) a plurality of beads of adhesive, or (c) a plurality of spots of adhesive.
6 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the intervening layer comprises (a) a unitary mass of intervening layer, (b) a plurality of beads of intervening layer, or (c) a plurality of spots of intervening layer.
7 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the intervening layer comprises a sealant to inhibit the adhesive from seeping into pores of the base layer.
8 . The carpet seam tape of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive comprises a first adhesive, and wherein the intervening layer comprises a second adhesive.
9 . The carpet seam tape of claim 8 , wherein the second adhesive comprises a polymer adhesive.
10 . Carpet seam tape for joining two carpet segments, the carpet seam tape comprising:
an elongated base layer; an intervening layer applied to the base layer; and an adhesive applied to the intervening layer.
11 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the adhesive comprises a hot-melt thermoplastic adhesive.
12 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the base layer is resilient in a transverse direction.
13 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the base layer comprises textile or fabric.
14 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the base layer comprises textile or fabric that is resilient in a transverse direction.
15 . The carpet seam tape of claim 14 , wherein the textile or fabric comprises (a) cotton and elastane or (b) denim and elastane.
16 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the adhesive comprises (a) a unitary mass of adhesive, (b) a plurality of beads of adhesive, or (c) a plurality of spots of adhesive.
17 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the intervening layer comprises (a) a unitary mass of intervening layer, (b) a plurality of beads of intervening layer, or (c) a plurality of spots of intervening layer.
18 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the intervening layer comprises a sealant to inhibit the adhesive from seeping into pores of the base layer.
19 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the adhesive comprises a first adhesive, and wherein the intervening layer comprises a second adhesive.
20 . The carpet seam tape of claim 17 , wherein the second adhesive comprises a polymer adhesive.
21 . The carpet seam tape of claim 10 , wherein the seam tape does not comprise a scrim.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
