Abstract

A catheter lock solution includes a hydrochloric acid solution having a concentration of 0.3 Molar to 1.0 Molar. This hydrochloric acid solution may be used to lock a catheter and/or salvage an infected catheter.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A catheter lock solution in a catheter, the catheter lock solution comprising:
a hydrochloric acid solution having a concentration of 0.3 Molar to 1.0 Molar.

2 . The catheter lock solution of claim 1 , further comprising an antimicrobial agent.

3 . The catheter lock solution of claim 1 , further comprising an anticoagulant.

4 . The catheter lock solution of claim 3 , wherein the anticoagulant is ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or a citrate salt.

5 . The catheter lock solution of claim 1 , further comprising a fibrinolytic.

6 . A catheter salvage solution in a catheter, the catheter salvage solution comprising a hydrochloric acid solution having a concentration of 0.3 Molar to 1.0 Molar.

7 . The catheter salvage solution of claim 1 , further comprising an antimicrobial agent.

8 . The catheter salvage solution of claim 1 , further comprising an anticoagulant.

9 . The catheter salvage solution of claim 8 , wherein the anticoagulant is ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or a citrate salt.

10 . The catheter salvage solution of claim 1 , further comprising a fibrinolytic.

         11 . A catheter kit comprising:
a catheter; and a hydrochloric acid solution having a concentration of 0.3 Molar to 1.0 Molar.
