Method and apparatus for pictorial identification of a communication event
Abstract
The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software product for pictorial identification of a communication event using speech or text recognition in an electronic device. The communication can be (but is not limited to) a telephone call, an electronic mail message, MMS, SMS, an instant message, etc. Words from the communication event are identified using the speech or text recognition by the electronic device and at least one picture out of a library of reference pictures is identified by comparing the identified words with the key picture words using a predetermined criterion. Color background of the identified standard picture can be also identified using the identified words and a further predetermined criterion. The identified picture can be displayed during the communications event or can be stored so the user can identify the topic of the communication event later on.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at an electronic device, at least one of a speech input and a text input; identifying words from the received input; comparing, at the electronic device, the identified words with a key picture words to identify a picture; and identifying, at the electronic device, a background color by comparing the identified words with a key color word.
3 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein the identified words are identified using text or speech recognition.
4 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein identifying the background color uses a predetermined and a further determined criteria.
5 . The method according to claim 2 further comprising:
determining whether identifying of the picture is successful;
if identifying of the picture is successful, determining whether the identified background color is successful; and
if the identified background color is successful, displaying the identified picture and the identified background color.
6 . The method according to claim 2 further comprising:
determining whether identifying of the picture is successful;
if identifying of the picture is successful, determining whether the identified background color is successful; and
if the identified background color is not successful, displaying the identified picture and a default background color.
7 . The method according to claim 2 , further comprising
determining when no further input is inputted; and storing the identified picture and the identified background color.
8 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein the identified picture is a plurality of identified pictures.
9 . An apparatus, comprising:
a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, the processor configured to:
receive at least one of a speech input and a text input;
identify words from the received input;
compare the identified words with key picture words to identify a picture; and
identify a background color by comparing the identified words with a key color word.
10 . The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the identified words are identified using text or speech recognition.
11 . The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein identifying the background color uses a predetermined and a further determined criteria.
12 . The apparatus according to claim 9 wherein the processor is further configured to:
determine whether identifying of the picture is successful;
if the identifying of the picture is successful, determine whether the identified background color is successful; and
if the identified background color is successful, display the identified picture and the identified background color.
13 . The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
determine whether identifying of the picture is successful; if identifying of the picture is successful, determine whether the identified background color is successful; and if identified background color is not successful, display the identified picture and a default background color.
14 . The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
determine when no further input is inputted; and store, in the memory, the identified picture and the identified background color.
15 . The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the identified picture is a plurality of identified pictures.
16 . A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program instructions stored therein, the computer-readable program instructions configured to cause an apparatus to at least:
receive at least one of a speech input and a text input; identify words from the received input; compare the identified words with key picture words to identify a picture; and identify a background color by comparing the identified words with a key color word.
17 . The computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein the identified words are identified using text or speech recognition.
18 . The computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein identifying the background color uses a predetermined and a further determined criteria.
19 . The computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein the computer readable program instructions are further configured to cause the apparatus to at least:
determine whether identifying of the picture is successful; if identifying of the picture is successful, determine whether the identified background color is successful; and if the identified background color is successful, display the identified picture and the identified background color.
20 . A computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein the computer readable program instructions are further configured to cause the apparatus to at least:
determine whether identifying of the picture is successful; if identifying of the picture is successful, determine whether the identified background color is successful; and if the identified background color is not successful, display the identified picture and a default background color.
21 . A computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein the computer readable program instructions are further configured to cause the apparatus to at least:
determine when no further input is inputted; and storing the identified picture and the identified background color.
22 . The computer program product according to claim 16 , wherein the identified picture is a plurality of identified pictures.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
