Abstract

A nanoparticulate composition of abiraterone acetate that allows treatment at a lower dose than convention abiraterone acetate formulations is described as in a method of treating prostate cancer by administering the composition together with a glucocorticoid.

1 . A method of treating prostate cancer comprising administering a glucocorticoid and a daily dose of between 400 and 600 mg of abiraterone acetate. 
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the abiraterone acetate has a median particle size on a volume average basis of 100 nm-1000 nm. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the glucocorticoid is methylprednisolone. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the daily dose of abiraterone acetate is administered as a single dose.
