Abstract

A panorama viewer is disclosed which facilitates navigation from within the panorama of a larger, structured system such as a map. The panorama viewer presents a viewport on a portion of a panoramic image, the viewport including a three-dimensional overlay rendered with the panoramic image. As the orientation of the viewport within the panoramic image changes, the three-dimensional overlay's orientation in three-dimensional space also changes as it is rendered with the panoramic image in a manner that matches the change in orientation of the viewport.

         41 . A method for providing overlaid imagery in imagery systems, comprising:
 receiving, by one or more processors, a request for location imagery of a location;   determining, by the one or more processors, imagery related to the location;   determining, by the one or more processors, street information related to the location, wherein a street corresponding to the street information is depicted in the imagery;   determining, by the one or more processors, overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery; and   providing for display, in response to the request for location imagery of the location and by the one or more processors, overlay imagery, wherein the overlay imagery is generated based at least in part on the imagery related to the location, the street information related to the location, and the overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery.   
     
     
         42 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the imagery comprises street-level imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street information overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the street-level imagery. 
     
     
         43 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the street information comprises a street location, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display graphics of the street location overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the imagery. 
     
     
         44 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the imagery comprises coordinate information, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street information overlaid on the imagery based at least in part on the coordinate information. 
     
     
         45 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the street information comprises two or more street names of streets depicted in the imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the two or more street names overlaid on corresponding streets depicted in the imagery. 
     
     
         46 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the street information comprises a street name, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street name overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the imagery. 
     
     
         47 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the method further comprises, in response to receiving a user selection relative to the display overlaid imagery, providing for display second imagery associated with a second location, said second location determined in response to the user selection. 
     
     
         48 . The method of  claim 47 , wherein providing for display second imagery associated with the second location comprises transitioning between the overlaid imagery and the second imagery. 
     
     
         49 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the street information includes geographical information for a street depicted in the imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the imagery with the street information positioned according to its geographical information. 
     
     
         50 . A system for provision of imagery superimposition, comprising:
 one or more processors; and   one or more computer-readable media, the one or more computer-readable media storing computer-readable instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:   receiving a request for location imagery of a location;   determining imagery related to the location;   determining street information related to the location, wherein a street corresponding to the street information is depicted in the imagery;   determining overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery; and   providing for display, in response to the request for location imagery of the location, overlay imagery, wherein the overlay imagery is generated based at least in part on the imagery related to the location, the street information related to the location, and the overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery.   
     
     
         51 . The system of  claim 50 , wherein the street information comprises a street name, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street name overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the imagery. 
     
     
         52 . The system of  claim 50 , wherein the street information comprises a street location, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display graphics of the street location overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the imagery. 
     
     
         53 . The system of  claim 50 , wherein the street information comprises two or more street names of streets depicted in the imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the two or more street names overlaid on corresponding streets depicted in the imagery.

The system of  claim 50 , wherein the method further comprises, in response to receiving a user selection relative to the display overlaid imagery, providing for display second imagery associated with a second location, said second location determined in response to the user selection. 
     
     
         55 . The system of  claim 54 , wherein providing for display second imagery associated with the second location comprises transitioning between the overlaid imagery and the second imagery.

The system of  claim 50 , wherein the street information includes positional information for a street depicted in the imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the imagery with the street information positioned according to its positional information. 
     
     
         57 . One or more tangible non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer readable instructions that when executed by one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:
 receiving a request for location imagery of a location;   determining imagery related to the location;   determining street information related to the location, wherein a street corresponding to the street information is depicted in the imagery;   determining overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery; and   providing for display, in response to the request for location imagery of the location, overlay imagery, wherein the overlay imagery is generated based at least in part on the imagery related to the location, the street information related to the location, and the overlay information for the street information relative to the imagery.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 57 , wherein the imagery comprises three-dimensional coordinate information, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street information overlaid on the imagery based at least in part on the three-dimensional coordinate information.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 57 , wherein the method further comprises, in response to receiving a user selection relative to the display overlaid imagery, providing for display second imagery associated with a second location, said second location determined in response to the user selection.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of  claim 57 , wherein the imagery comprises street-level imagery, and wherein providing for display the overlay imagery comprises providing for display the street information overlaid on a corresponding street depicted in the street-level imagery.
