Abstract

In at least one embodiment, a projector includes a light source device, an optical modulation device, a projection optical device, and an operation button. The optical modulation device modulates a luminous flux emitted from the light source device in accordance with an image data to form an image. The projection optical device includes a reflecting mirror that projects the image from the optical modulation device toward a projection surface. An image opening allows the image projected from the projection optical device to pass through. The image opening is defined in a tilted surface of the projector exterior housing. The tilted surface is obliquely inclined relative to the projection surface. An operation button is disposed on another surface of the projector exterior housing. The other surface overlaps the reflecting mirror in plan view.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A short-throw projector comprising:
a light source device; an optical modulation device that modulates a luminous flux emitted from the light source device in accordance with an image data to form an image; a projection optical device that includes a reflecting mirror that projects the image from the optical modulation device toward a projection surface; an image opening for allowing the image projected from the projection optical device to pass through, the image opening being defined in a tilted surface of a projector exterior housing, the tilted surface being obliquely inclined relative to the projection surface; and an operation button disposed on an other surface of the projector exterior housing, the other surface extending between the tilted surface and a portion of the projector exterior housing disposed farther from the projection surface than the reflecting mirror.

2 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the operation button is a powering on and off switch.

3 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the operation button is an image input change-over switch.

4 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the operation button is a menu screen display switch.

5 . A short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein an operation panel including the operation button is disposed on the other surface of the projector exterior housing.

6 . A short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the other surface of the projector exterior housing is a tilted surface that is obliquely inclined relative to the projection surface.

7 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the operation button does not overlap the reflecting mirror in plan view.

8 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the reflecting mirror includes a concave reflecting surface.

9 . The short-throw projector according to claim 1 , wherein the reflecting mirror receives the image as light traveling in a direction away from the projection surface and reflects the image as light traveling toward the projection surface.

         10 . A short-throw projector comprising:
a light source device; an optical modulation device that modulates a luminous flux emitted from the light source device in accordance with an image data to form an image; a projection optical device that includes a reflecting mirror that projects the image from the optical modulation device toward a projection surface; an image opening for allowing the image projected from the projection optical device to pass through, the image opening being defined in a tilted surface of a projector exterior housing, the tilted surface being obliquely inclined relative to the projection surface; and an operation button disposed on an other surface of the projector exterior housing, the other surface overlapping the reflecting mirror in plan view.

11 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the operation button is a powering on and off switch.

12 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the operation button is an image input change-over switch.

13 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the operation button is a menu screen display switch.

14 . A short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein an operation panel including the operation button is disposed on the other surface of the projector exterior housing.

15 . A short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the other surface of the projector exterior housing is a tilted surface that is obliquely inclined relative to the projection surface.

16 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the reflecting mirror includes a concave reflecting surface.

17 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the reflecting mirror receives the image as light traveling in a direction away from the projection surface and reflects the image as light traveling toward the projection surface.

18 . The short-throw projector according to claim 10 , wherein the other surface of the projector housing extends between the tilted surface and a portion of the projector exterior housing disposed farther from the projection surface than the reflecting mirror.
