Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for improved navigation instructions. In one implementation instructions between two locations can be computed, the instructions can be processed in relation to previously computed instructions between the same locations and/or a previously traveled route between the same locations to determine disparitie(s) therebetween, and a notification can be generated based on the disparitie(s). In another implementation, one set of instructions between two locations can be received, another set of instructions between two other locations can be received, the sets of instructions can be processed to determine disparities between them with respect to one or more locations, a notification can be generated based on the one or more disparities, and the notification can be provided in relation to the location(s).

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 computing one or more navigation instructions between a first location and a second location;   processing, with a processing device, the one or more navigation instructions in relation to at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location or (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location to determine one or more disparities between the one or more navigation instructions and the at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location or (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location; and   generating one or more notifications based on the one or more disparities.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more notifications comprise one or more navigation instructions that characterize an aspect of the navigation between the first location and the second location in relation to the at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location, (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location, or (c) a frequently traveled route between the first location and the second location. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more notifications comprise one or more navigation instructions that characterize an aspect of the navigation between the first location and the second location as an instruction to deviate from at least one aspect of the at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location or (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more notifications comprise one or more navigation instructions that characterize an aspect of the navigation between the first location and the second location as an instruction to continue performing at least one of the one or more navigation instructions that were previously provided. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising providing the one or more notifications in relation to a location associated with the one or more disparities. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the at least one of the one or more navigation instructions were previously provided during the same trip as the one or more navigation instructions. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more notifications comprise one or more navigation instructions that characterize an aspect of the navigation between the first location and the second location as an instruction to continue performing at least one navigation operation. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the at least one navigation operation comprises a navigation operation that was performed. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising providing the one or more notifications in relation to a location associated with the one or more disparities. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the at least one navigation operation was previously performed during the same trip as the one or more notifications are generated with respect to. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising precluding the providing of a notification that does not correspond to the one or more disparaties. 
     
     
         12 . A system comprising:
 a memory; and   a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, to:
 receive a first set of navigation instructions, the first set of navigation instructions comprising navigation instructions from a first origin to a first destination; 
 receive a second set of navigation instructions, the second set of navigation instructions comprising navigation instructions from a second origin to a second destination; 
 process the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions to determine one or more disparities between the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions with respect to one or more locations; 
 generate one or more notifications based on the one or more disparities; and 
 provide the one or more notifications in relation to the one or more locations. 
   
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the second set of navigation instructions comprises at least one of (a) one or more previously traveled routes, (b) one or more frequently traveled routes, or (c) one or more previously computed navigation instructions. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein at least one of (a) the first origin is equivalent to the second origin or (b) the first destination is equivalent to the second destination. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein to process the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions is to processing the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions to determine (a) one or more instructions that are present in both the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions and (b) one or more disparities between the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions, the one or more disparities comprising one or more instructions that follow the one or more instructions that are present in both the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions that are at least one of (a) present in the second set of navigation instructions but are not present in the first set of navigation instructions or (b) present in the first set of navigation instructions but are not present in the second set of navigation instructions. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more notifications comprise at least one of (a) a notification not to perform one or more instructions from the first set of navigation instructions that are associated with the one or more locations and that are not present in the second set of navigation instructions or (b) a notification to perform one or more instructions from the second set of navigation instructions that are associated with the one or more locations and that are not present in the first set of navigation instructions. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein to provide the one or more notifications is to provide the one or more notifications via one or more interfaces. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the one or more interfaces comprise at least one of: a display interface, an audio interface, an illumination interface, or a haptic interface. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein to provide the one or more notifications via one or more interfaces is to:
 determine a degree to which the one or more notifications are relatively unlikely to be complied with; and   select, based on the degree to which the one or more notifications are relatively unlikely to be complied with, at least one of the one or more interfaces at which to provide the one or more notifications.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein to provide the one or more notifications is to provide the one or more notifications in a manner that is relatively more prominent than one or more notifications provided with respect to one or more prior navigation operations. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein to provide the one or more notifications is to:
 determine a degree to which the one or more notifications are relatively unlikely to be complied with; and   provide, based on the degree to which the one or more notifications are relatively unlikely to be complied with, the one or more notifications in a manner that is relatively more prominent than one or more other notifications provided with respect to the one or more prior navigation operations.   
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein to provide the one or more notifications is to provide the notification in a manner that is at least one of (a) relatively louder, (b) relatively faster, (c) relatively brighter, (d) relatively stronger; (e) relatively longer, (f) relatively more redundant, (g) relatively more dynamic, (h) relatively bolder, or (i) relatively larger, than one or more notifications provided with respect to the one or more prior navigation operations. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the processing device is further to preclude the providing of a notification that does not correspond to the one or more disparities between the first set of navigation instructions and the second set of navigation instructions. 
     
     
         24 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to:
 compute one or more navigation instructions between a first location and a second location;   process the one or more navigation instructions in relation to at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location or (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location to determine one or more disparities between the one or more navigation instructions and the at least one of (a) one or more previously computed navigation instructions between the first location and the second location or (b) a previously traveled route between the first location and the second location;   generate one or more notifications based on the one or more disparities, the one or more notifications comprising one or more navigation instructions that characterize an aspect of the navigation between the first location and the second location as an instruction to continue performing at least one of the one or more navigation instructions that were previously provided; and   provide the one or more notifications in relation to a location associated with the one or more disparities.
