Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of chondroitin as a transdermal carrier and slow-release system for active ingredients in pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical compositions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical compositions containing non-covalent complexes between non-sulphated chondroitin having molecular weight between 5 and 100 kDa determined by size-exclusion chromatography and active ingredients.
2 . Compositions according to claim 1 for the topical, nasal, rectal and vaginal administration.
3 . (canceled)
4 . Compositions according to claim 1 in the form of solutions, emulsions, gel, creams, sprays, suppositories, eyedrops, masks, patches, dressings and plasters.
5 . Non-covalent complexes of non-sulphated chondroitin having molecular weight between 5 and 100 kDa determined by size-exclusion chromatography and active ingredients.
6 . Non-covalent complexes according to claim 5 , wherein the active ingredient is a non-steroidal or steroidal anti-inflammatory, an antitumoral, an antiviral, an antimicrobial, a diuretic, a contraceptive, an analgesic, a bronchodilator, a monoclonal antibody, an immunosuppressant, a vasoconstrictor or a vasodilator, an antioxidant, a soothing, moisturising or draining agent, a biostimulant, a radical scavenger, a wrinkle treatment agent, a hair growth compound or a bioactive peptide, either used individually or in combinations thereof.
7 . (canceled)
8 . A method of transdermal and trans-mucosa delivery of a medicament comprising an active ingredient and non-sulphate chondroitin having molecular weight between 5 and 100 kDa determined by size-exclusion chromatography, said method comprising:
applying said medicament on skin or mucosa of a subject in need thereof; and obtaining said transdermal and trans-mucosa delivery of said medicament in said patient in need.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein said active ingredient is selected from the group consisting essentially of steroidal and no-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-tumorals, antivirals, antimicrobials, diuretics, contraceptives, analgesics, bronchodilators, monoclonal antibodies, immunosuppressants, vasoconstrictors or vasodilators, antioxidants, soothing agents, moisturizing agents, drainage agents, biostimulants, radical scavengers, wrinkle treatment agents, hair growth compounds, bioactive peptides and combination thereof.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
