Abstract

A fabricated apparatus is provided. A plurality of sheets are affixed together to form a fabricated structure having a substantially hollow interior portion, wherein each of the plurality of sheets is substantially planar, and wherein a side edge of one of the plurality of sheets engages with a side edge of another of the plurality of sheets. A cover plate is positioned at an end of the fabricated structure, wherein the cover plate is connected to a top edge of at least a portion of the plurality of sheets, wherein the top edge is positioned substantially perpendicular to at least one of the side edges. At least one fastener is connected between at least two of the plurality of sheets, wherein the at least one fastener is positioned remotely from the cover plate.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

         1 . A fabricated apparatus comprising:
a plurality of sheets affixed together to form a fabricated structure having a substantially hollow interior portion, wherein each of the plurality of sheets is substantially planar, and wherein a side edge of one of the plurality of sheets engages with a side edge of another of the plurality of sheets wherein the engagement between the side edge of one of the plurality of sheets and the side edge of another of the plurality of sheets further comprises a grooved engagement; a cover plate positioned at an end of the fabricated structure, wherein the cover plate is connected to a top edge of at least a portion of the plurality of sheets, wherein the top edge is positioned substantially perpendicular to at least one of the side edges; and at least one fastener connected between at least two of the plurality of sheets, wherein the at least one fastener is positioned remotely from the cover plate.

2 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the cover plate is constructed from stone.

3 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the grooved engagement further comprises at least one of: a tongue and groove engagement; a pin and slot engagement; and a step joint engagement.

4 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener further comprises at least one threaded fastener.

5 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener is connected between abutting sheets.

6 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener is connected between non-abutting sheets.

7 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of sheets are constructed from a wood material.

8 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener further comprises a clamp fastener, wherein the clamp fastener is positioned about an exterior surface of the fabricated structure and encircles the fabricated structure.

9 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener connected between at least two of the plurality of sheets further comprises two fasteners connected between at least two of the plurality of sheets, wherein a first fastener of the two fasteners is positioned proximate to the top edge and a second fastener of the two fasteners is positioned remote from the top edge.

10 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising at least one set of aligned holes positioned within the cover and within at least one sheet, wherein a pin is positioned within the set of aligned holes.

11 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a reinforcing support column positioned within the substantially hollow interior portion of the fabricated structure.

12 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener further comprises an adhesive fastener positioned between the engagement of the side edge of one of the plurality of sheets and the side edge of another of the plurality of sheets.

13 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a spike holder connectable to a lower portion of the fabricated structure with a fastener, wherein the spike holder is securable within a ground surface to stationarily retain the fabricated structure in a substantially vertical position.

14 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising at least one access door positioned within one of the plurality of sheets, wherein the at least one access door controls access to the substantially hollow interior portion.

15 . The fabricated apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the at least one access door positioned within one of the plurality of sheets further comprises two access doors, positioned at a different height from one another within one of the plurality of sheets, respectively, and further comprising an interior platform positioned within the substantially hollow interior portion and connected to at least one of the sheets.

         16 . A fixture-supporting, fabricated post apparatus comprising:
a plurality of sheets affixed together to form a fabricated structure having a substantially hollow interior portion, wherein each of the plurality of sheets is substantially planar, and wherein a side edge of one of the plurality of sheets engages with a side edge of another of the plurality of sheets, wherein a lower end of the fabricated structure is positioned below a ground surface wherein the engagement between the side edge of one of the plurality of sheets and the side edge of another of the plurality of sheets further comprises a grooved engagement; a cover plate positioned at an upper end of the fabricated structure, wherein the cover plate is connected to a top edge of at least a portion of the plurality of sheets, wherein the top edge is positioned substantially perpendicular to at least one of the side edges; and at least one fastener connected between at least two opposing sheets, wherein the at least one fastener is located in a position below the ground surface.

17 . The fixture-supporting, fabricated post apparatus of claim 16 , further comprising a fixture securely attached to at least one of the fabricated structure and the cover plate.

18 . A method for manufacturing a fabricated apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:
engaging at least three sheets by connecting a side edge of each of one of the at least three sheets with a side edge of another of each of the at least three sheets, thereby forming a fabricated structure having a substantially hollow interior portion, wherein each of the at least three sheets is substantially planar wherein the engagement between the side edge of one of the plurality of sheets and the side edge of another of the plurality of sheets further comprises a grooved engagement; connecting a cover plate to a top edge of at least a portion of the at least three sheets, wherein the top edge is substantially perpendicular to the side edge; and fastening at least two of the at least three sheets together with at least one fastener, wherein the at least one fastener is positioned remotely from the cover plate.
