Abstract

In accordance with various aspects of the disclosure, a method and apparatus is disclosed that includes features of a receiving antenna configured to wirelessly receive power transmitted by a transmitting device and arranged to associate or dissociate with the transmitting device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An apparatus comprising:
a power receiving unit (PRU) configured to wirelessly receive power transmitted by a power transmitting unit (PTU), the received power to be used by the PRU to provide operational power for the PRU and/or to charge a battery in the PRU, wherein the PRU is also configured to wirelessly receive at least one command from the PTU through a Bluetooth link and to wirelessly transmit at least one parameter to the PTU through the Bluetooth link.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a Bluetooth radio.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a charge status of the battery.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the PRU further comprises a switch to regulate the received power.

5 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one command is to be used to control the switch.

         6 . A method comprising:
wirelessly receiving power transmitted by a power transmitting unit (PTU); using the received power to provide operational power and/or to charge a battery; and wirelessly receiving at least one command from the PTU through a Bluetooth radio and wirelessly transmitting at least one parameter to the PTU through the Bluetooth radio.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a charge status of the battery.

8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising using a switch to regulate the reception of power.

9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising using the at least one command to control the switch.

         10 . An apparatus comprising:
a power transmitting unit (PTU) configured to wirelessly transmit power to be received by a power receiving unit (PRU), wherein the PTU is further configured to wirelessly transmit at least one command to the PRU through a Bluetooth link and to wirelessly receive at least one parameter from the PRU through the Bluetooth link.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , further comprising a Bluetooth radio.

12 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a charge status of a battery in the PRU.

13 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the at least one command is to be used to control a switch in the PRU for regulating reception of the power by the PRU.

         14 . A method comprising:
wirelessly transmitting power to be received by a wireless power receiving unit (PRU); and using a Bluetooth radio to transmit at least one command to the PRU and to receive at least one parameter from the PRU.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the at least one parameter comprises a charge status of a battery in the PRU.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the at least one command is to be used to control a switch in the PRU for regulating the reception of power in the PRU.
