Enhanced Delivery of Content and Program Instructions
Abstract
A tag/content management system delivers customized content and/or program instructions to a user terminal. The system may deliver several groups of program executable instructions, including instructions that are global to all web domains controlled by a client server and those that are specific to a web page/group of web pages. In addition, this system may allow for the creation of testing environments for websites that include modified content and/or program instructions. Various techniques employed by the system may result in a reduction in the errors and latencies that commonly plague conventional implementations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, at a server from a user terminal, a first request for first program instructions configured to execute on the user terminal, where the first request is generated in response to the user terminal loading a first data using an application; transmitting, to the user terminal by a computer processor of the server, the first program instructions; and receiving, at the server, a second request for second program instructions configured to execute on the user terminal, wherein the second request is generated in response to execution of the first program instructions, and the second request includes information about the first data loaded from the application on the user terminal; and generating, by the computer processor of the server, the second program instructions comprising analytics tags by parsing the first data and evaluating whether the information about the first data satisfies at least one of a plurality of conditions to determine whether at least one set of a plurality of sets of program instructions corresponding to analytics tags should be delivered to the user terminal.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second program instructions are configured to display advertisements on a display associated with the user terminal, and wherein a second data is related to activities of the user terminal while accessing the first data, and wherein the first program instructions comprise a tag manager configured to regulate execution of the second program instructions including their order of execution, not executing them more than once, and their asynchronous execution, wherein the analytics tags comprise mouse-over analytics tags, the method further comprising
routing, from the user terminal to an entity, the second data that has been collected; and collecting and storing, in a memory of the server, a third data about a user of the user terminal from call logs and transaction histories.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first data comprises a web page, and wherein the first program instructions are configured to be executed when the web page is loaded at the user terminal.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining, using a processor of the server, the second program instructions based on the information about the first data loaded from the application on the user terminal, wherein the analytics tags comprise analytics tags involving stylus movement.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising: transmitting, to the user terminal, the second program instructions, wherein the second program instructions are dynamically generated upon receiving the second request based on the information within the second request.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first data comprises a web page, and wherein the first program instructions are predefined for a webserver operating the web page.
7 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the second program instructions are configured to be executed after at least the first data is loaded at the user terminal.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first and second program instructions comprise client-side scripting code, the method further comprising:
listening, by the user terminal, for predetermined events generated through the application on the user terminal; and altering, by the user terminal, an order of execution of the second program instructions at the user terminal in response to the generated predetermined events.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first and second program instructions are configured to be executed when a document object model on the user terminal triggers the execution of the first and second program instructions.
10 . The method of claim 3 , wherein a second data comprise data chosen from the group consisting of: a name associated with the web page loaded, a download time of the web page, a setting of a cookie for the web page, mouse coordinates during a visit to the web page, data detailing movement of a mouse pointer over an object on the web page, data for deep form field analysis, and data for session replay.
11 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising analyzing the second data in real time.
12 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; a memory having stored therein computer executable instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to perform a method of:
storing rules created for execution of program instructions on a user terminal;
using the rules, generating a manager program with first program instructions configured to execute on the user terminal upon receiving a first request from the user terminal, wherein the first request is generated in response to the user terminal downloading data using an application; and
using the rules, generating page specific instructions configured to execute on the user terminal upon receiving a second request, wherein the second request is generated in response to execution of the first program instructions.
13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the manager program modifies an order of execution of analytics tag with respect to the page specific instructions.
14 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the manager program and the page specific instructions are configured to use call back functions to prevent the rules from executing out of order.
15 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the manager program is configured to prevent execution of the first program instructions and the page specific instructions when the manager program detects that the first program instructions and the page specific instructions are harmful, and wherein the method further performs: updating the rules, thereby also updating the manager program and the page specific instructions.
16 . A method comprising:
transmitting, to a user terminal by a computer processor, a first program instructions, wherein the first program instructions regulate execution of program instructions at the user terminal; during downloading of a web page on a webserver by a user terminal, receiving a request for page specific program instructions, wherein the request is generated in response to execution of the first program instructions on the user terminal; and transmitting, by the computer processor, the page specific program instructions to the user terminal, wherein the page specific program instructions are configured to execute on the user terminal in an order modified by the first program instructions.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the web page comprises mouse-over analytics tag, the method further comprising: receiving data generated from the execution of the first and page specific program instructions about activities of the user terminal during a visit to the web page.
18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising: storing data generated from the execution of the first and page specific program instructions.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising: receiving a request to increase storage capacity.
20 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising increasing storage capacity in response to a request for increased storage capacity.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
