Abstract

The invention is directed to a reconfigurable gaming tables and playing cards, such as card devices including thin, planar display devices in communication with a processing device for randomly selecting card images stored in a data storage device for display on the display devices.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A reconfigurable playing card device, comprising:
 a) a display device having a peripheral edge and first and second opposing planar sides; and b) a support frame enclosing the peripheral edges of the display device, wherein the first display side is exposed, the support frame including a processing device, a data storage device and a communication device embedded therein, wherein at least one of the first and second sides are configured to display card images.

2 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the display device comprises a flexible LCD.

3 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the support frame encloses the second side of the display device.

4 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the card images are randomly selected from the data storage device by the processing device.

5 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the card images are randomly selected by a remote processing device from a remote data storage device.

6 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 4 , wherein the cards are detected by the data communication device and the processing device determines the outcome of games.

7 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 5 , wherein the cards are detected by the data communication device and the remote processing device determines the outcome of games.

8 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 5 , wherein the card images are detected and used to determine the outcome of games.

9 . A reconfigurable playing card device, comprising:
 a) a first display device and a second display device, each of the first and second display devices having a peripheral edge and first and second opposing sides; and b) a support frame contacting the peripheral edge of each of the first display device and second display device and supporting the first and second display devices in a mounted position wherein the second sides of the first and second display devices are adjacent to one another, and the first sides of the first and second display devices are exposed and mounted in a position facing away from one another, wherein the support frame further includes a processing device configured to randomly-select face images of playing cards stored in a data storage device, and a communication device, all embedded therein, wherein one or both of the first and second sides of the display devices are configured to display card images.

10 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 9 , wherein the first and second display devices comprise a flexible LCD.

11 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 9 , wherein the support frame encloses the peripheral edge of the first and second display devices.

12 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 9 , wherein the cards are detected by the data communication device and the processing device determines the outcome of games.

13 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 9 , wherein at least one of the first planar sides of the first and second display device is touch-enabled.

         14 . (canceled)

14 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 13 , wherein a plurality of card images are randomly-selected for display.

15 . A reconfigurable playing card device, comprising:
 a) a first display device and a second display device, each of the first and second display devices having a peripheral edge and first and second opposing sides; and b) a support frame contacting the peripheral edge of each of the first display device and second display device and supporting the first and second display devices in a mounted position wherein the second sides of the first and second display devices are adjacent to one another, and the first sides of the first and second display devices are exposed and mounted in a position facing away from one another, wherein the support frame further includes a processing device, a data storage device, and a communication device, all embedded therein, wherein one or both of the first and second sides of each of the display devices are configured to display card images.

16 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 15 , wherein the first and second display devices comprise a flexible LCD.

17 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 15 , wherein the support frame encloses the peripheral edge of the first and second display devices.

18 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 15 , wherein the cards are detected by the data communication device and the processing device determines the outcome of games.

19 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 15 , wherein the cards are detected by the data communication device and the remote processing device determines the outcome of games.

20 . A reconfigurable playing card device as recited in claim 14 , wherein a plurality of card images are randomly-selected for display.
