Abstract
The invention provides cyclo[{4-(NH 2 —C 2 H 4 —NH—CO—O—)Pro}-Phg-DTrp-Lys-Tyr(4-Benzyl)-Phe], optionally in protected form, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or complex thereof, which has interesting pharmaceutical properties.

A method of treating somatostatin receptor expressing or accumulating tumors such as pituitary, gastro-enteropancreatic, central nervous system, breast, prostatic (including advanced hormone-refractory prostate cancer), ovarian or colonic tumours, small cell lung cancer, malignant bowel obstruction, paragangliomas, kidney cancer, skin cancer, neuroblastomas, pheochromocytomas, medullary thyroid carcinomas, myelomas, lymphomas, Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphomas, bone tumours and metastases thereof, as well as autoimmune or inflammatory disorders, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, Graves disease or other inflammatory eye diseases in a subject, wherein said method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound of formula
where one of the amino groups being optionally in protected form, or a salt or a complex thereof.
2 . The method according to claim 1 wherein said somatostatin receptor expressing or accumulating tumor is a malignant bowel obstruction.
3 . The method according to claim 1 wherein said somatostatin receptor expressing or accumulating tumor is a neuroendocrine tumor.
4 . A method of treating gastrointestinal hormone secreting tumors in a subject, wherein said method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound of formula
where one of the amino groups being optionally in protected form, or a salt or a complex thereof.
5 . The method according to claim 4 wherein said gastrointestinal hormone secreting tumor is a carcinoid tumor.Cited by (0)
