System and method for determining appropriate redemption presentations for a virtual token associated with a stored value account
Abstract
A method for determining an appropriate redemption presentation for a virtual token associated with a stored value account is disclosed. The method may include receiving a request for presenting a redemption presentation of a virtual token and obtaining a merchant identifier associated with the request. The method may further include determining if the request is for one of an on-line transaction and a transaction with a point-of-sale terminal, and if the request is for a transaction with a point-of-sale terminal, then searching a database using the merchant identifier to find one or more redemption presentations of virtual token preferred by a merchant. Subsequently, the one or more redemption presentations of the virtual token may be transmitted over a computer network to a client device.

45 . An electronic method for completing payment of a transaction with a mobile phone, the method comprising:
storing financial account data on the mobile phone wherein the financial account data is capable of completing the transaction; receiving a command to pay for the transaction with the mobile phone; displaying a visual on a display device of the mobile phone that corresponds with the financial account data; generating a machine readable code that allows for the transfer of at least a portion of the financial account data from the mobile phone to another machine; and receiving a payment confirmation message with the mobile phone.
46 . The method of claim 45 , wherein the visual on the display device comprises an image of a rectangular card and a name of a financial account provider.
47 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the rectangular card comprises at least one of a credit card, a store value card, and a bank card, the store value card comprising at least one of a payroll card, government benefit card, prepaid debit card, a telephone card, and a merchant branded card.
48 . The method of claim 45 , wherein the portion of the financial account data comprises numerical data.
49 . The method of claim 48 , wherein the numerical data corresponds with an account number of a financial account.
50 . The method of claim 49 , wherein the financial account comprises at least one of a credit card account, a store value account, and a bank account.
51 . The method of claim 45 , further comprising orienting the mobile phone for optimal acquisition of the machine readable code.
52 . The method of claim 51 , further comprising positioning the mobile phone within a predetermined distance of another machine for reception of the machine readable code.
53 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the machine comprises a terminal for completing a financial transaction.
54 . The method of claim 53 , wherein the terminal comprises a point-of-sale terminal.
55 . An electronic system for completing payment of a transaction with a mobile phone, the method comprising:
a processor operable for:
storing financial account data on the mobile phone wherein the financial account data is capable of completing the transaction;
receiving a command to pay for the transaction with the mobile phone;
displaying a visual on a display device of the mobile phone that corresponds with the financial account data;
generating a machine readable code that allows for the transfer of at least a portion of the financial account data from the mobile phone to another machine; and
receiving a payment confirmation message with the mobile phone.
56 . The system of claim 55 , wherein the visual on the display device comprises an image of a rectangular card and a name of a financial account provider.

storing financial account data on the mobile phone wherein the financial account data is capable of completing the transaction; receiving a command to pay for the transaction with the mobile phone; displaying a visual on a display device of the mobile phone that corresponds with the financial account data; generating a machine readable code that allows for the transfer of at least a portion of the financial account data from the mobile phone to another machine; and receiving a payment confirmation message with the mobile phone.
