Abstract

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including a pixel electrode which is located in an inside surrounded by a first gate line, a second gate line, a first source line and a second source line, and a second substrate including a common electrode. The pixel electrode includes a contact portion, two or more main pixel electrodes, and a connection portion connecting the main pixel electrodes. The common electrode includes main common electrodes located above the first gate line, above the second gate line and above a point between the main pixel electrodes, and sub-common electrodes located above the first source
