Abstract
The present invention discloses a keyboard comprising light emitting devices, each respectively disposed below a key to lighten the top surface of the key; and a micro controller unit transmitting signals generated by each key to the computer, having switches for controlling the light emitting devices, and controlling switches according to signals transmitted from the computer, and a method of selecting the colors of the keys of the same.

9 . A method for controlling light emission of a keyboard system, the method comprising:
receiving a request from a user to initiate computer software for key selection and color selection; displaying keys of the keyboard and a color designating window on a monitor for key selection and color selection; receiving information on key selection and color selection from the user; transmitting the information to the micro controller unit of the keyboard; and controlling light emission of the light emitting devices using the switches in accordance with the information from the user, thereby independently lightening a top surface of a selected key with a color designated by the user, wherein the keyboard system comprises a plurality of keys, each respectively including a symbol region on its top surface; light emitting devices disposed below the plurality of keys, wherein each of the light emitting devices is respectively disposed below a corresponding key of the plurality of keys to lighten the top surface of the corresponding key; and a micro controller unit having switches for controlling the light emitting devices, wherein the micro controller unit transmits an electric signal generated by a mechanical signal of a key of the keyboard to a computer and controls light emission of the light emitting devices using the switches in accordance with a signal generated by the computer software in a manner that each of the light emitting devices independently lightens the top surface of the corresponding key with a color designated by a user, wherein each of the light emitting devices comprises at least one of red, green and blue LEDs, and the micro controller unit comprises at least one switch for controlling said at least one of the red, green and blue LEDs, wherein a reflecting plate is provided inside of each of the keys and the reflecting plate improves efficiency of light emitted to the top surface of the key, and wherein the micro controller unit controls current supplied to light emitting devices to illuminate a color designated by the computer software.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the top surface of the key, except for the symbol region, is formed opaque and the symbol region is formed to transmit light.
