Ecg lead set and ecg adapter system
Abstract
A method for coupling an ECG monitor with an incompatible ECG lead set includes the steps of providing an ECG adapter including an adapter body having at least one monitor connector adapted for coupling to an input of an ECG monitor and at least one lead set receptacle adapted for coupling to a connector of an ECG lead set incompatible with the input of the ECG monitor, coupling the at least one monitor connector of the adapter body with the input of the ECG monitor and coupling the at least one lead set receptacle of the adapter body with the connector of the ECG lead set to thereby electrically couple the ECG lead set with the ECG monitor.

24 . A system comprising:
a plurality of ECG monitors, each ECG monitor having a specific input different from the other specific inputs; an ECG lead set including a standard connector, the standard connector incompatible with the specific input of each of the ECG monitors; and a plurality of ECG adapters, each ECG adapter including a specific monitor connector different from the other specific monitor connectors, each specific monitor connector adapted for coupling to the specific input of one of the ECG monitors, each ECG adapter body further including a standard lead set receptacle adapted for coupling to the standard connector of the ECG lead set.
25 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the standard connector of the ECG lead set is one of an RJ25 connector and an RJ45 connector of the ECG lead set.
26 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the each ECG adapter includes an adapter body having the specific monitor connector disposed at a first end thereof and the standard lead set receptacle disposed at a second end thereof.
27 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the ECG lead set includes a plurality of wires and wherein at least a portion of the plurality of wires forms at least one ribbon cable.
28 . The system of claim 24 , wherein each wire of the ECG lead set includes an electrode disposed at a free end thereof.
29 . A system comprising:
an ECG monitor including at least one input; a plurality of different ECG lead sets, each lead set including a different connector, each connector incompatible with the at least one input of the ECG monitor; and an ECG adapter including an adapter body having a monitor connector adapted to connect to the input of the ECG monitor and a plurality of different ECG lead set receptacles, each ECG lead set receptacle adapted to connect to the connector of one of the ECG lead sets for coupling each of the ECG lead sets with the ECG monitor.
30 . The system of claim 29 , wherein one of the ECG lead sets includes an RJ25 connector and another of the ECG lead sets includes an RJ45 connector.
31 . The system of claim 29 , wherein each of the ECG lead sets includes a different number of ECG leads.
32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the ECG lead sets are selected from a three lead set, a five-lead set, and a twelve-lead set.
33 . An electrocardiograph (ECG) adapter to couple an ECG lead set with an ECG monitor, the adapter comprising:
an ECG adapter comprising an adapter body having at least two monitor connectors configured to couple to a corresponding input of an ECG monitor and at least one lead set receptacle different from the at least two monitor connectors and configured to couple to a connector of an ECG lead set incompatible with the inputs of the ECG monitor.
34 . The ECG adapter of claim 33 wherein the at least two monitor connectors comprises plugs and the at least one connector comprises a receptacle.
35 . The ECG adapter of claim 34 wherein the at least one lead set receptacle of the adapter body is configured to couple to one of an RJ25 connector or an RJ45 connector of the ECG lead set.
36 . The ECG adapter of claim 33 wherein the at least one lead set receptacle comprises a first and second lead set receptacles to couple to connections of respective first and second connectors of first and second ECG lead sets.
37 . The ECG adapter of claim 36 wherein the first ECG lead set comprises a different number of leads than the second ECG lead set.
38 . The ECG adapter of claim 37 wherein the first lead set receptacle is configured to couple to an RJ25 connector of the first ECG lead set and the second lead set receptacle of the adapter body is configured to couple to an RJ45 connector of the second ECG lead set.
39 . The ECG adapter of claim 33 wherein the at least one lead set includes a plurality of wires and at least a portion of the plurality of wires forms at least one ribbon cable.
40 . The ECG adapter of claim 39 wherein at least one of the plurality of wires forming the at least one ribbon cable is separable from the at least one ribbon cable.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
