Abstract

A soldier platform system and method includes a soldier platform system in a vehicle. In an embodiment, the soldier platform system includes a seat assembly. The seat assembly includes a seat and straps. The soldier platform system also includes a restraint harness belt. The restraint harness belt is secured to the seat assembly. In addition, the soldier platform system includes mounting assemblies. The straps attach the seat to the mounting assemblies. The soldier platform system further includes a ratchet platform that has a platform upper assembly and a platform lower assembly. The soldier platform system also has a strap retractor and a retractor strap. The retractor strap is extractable from the strap retractor, and the retractor strap is retractable by the strap retractor. Additionally, the strap retractor retracts the retractor strap upon achieving a strap threshold. Moreover, the strap retractor is secured to the platform lower assembly.

1 . A soldier platform system in a vehicle, comprising:
 a seat assembly comprising a seat and straps;   a restraint harness belt, wherein the restraint harness belt is secured to the seat assembly;   mounting assemblies, wherein the straps attach the seat to the mounting assemblies;   a ratchet platform comprising:
 a platform upper assembly; and 
 a platform lower assembly, wherein the platform lower assembly comprises a base plate and a seat plate. 
   
     
     
         2 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the seat plate provides support to the platform upper assembly, the platform lower assembly, and an energy attenuation system. 
     
     
         3 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the seat plate further comprises seat plate rails. 
     
     
         4 . The soldier platform system of  claim 3 , wherein the seat plate rails are on opposing sides of the seat plate. 
     
     
         5 . The soldier platform system of  claim 3 , wherein the seat plate rails further comprise pin openings. 
     
     
         6 . The solider platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the seat plate has an opening to allow a ratchet to pass through. 
     
     
         7 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the seat plate is attached to the base plate. 
     
     
         8 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the base plate has a greater length than the seat plate. 
     
     
         9 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the base plate is secured to the vehicle. 
     
     
         10 . The soldier platform system of  claim 1 , further comprising base plate shim bars. 
     
     
         11 . The solider platform system of  claim 1 , wherein the base plate further comprises base plate rails. 
     
     
         12 . The solider platform system of  claim 11 , wherein the base plate rails are on opposing sides of the base plate. 
     
     
         13 . The soldier platform system of  claim 11 , wherein the base plate rails further comprise pin openings. 
     
     
         14 . The soldier platform system of  claim 11 , wherein a base plate rail is in slidable contact with a seat plate rail. 
     
     
         15 . The soldier platform system of  claim 14 , wherein the seat plate is longitudinally slidable along the base plate. 
     
     
         16 . The soldier platform system of  claim 15 , wherein a release pin is inserted through a pin opening of the seat plate and a pin opening of the base plate to prevent longitudinal sliding between the seat plate and base plate. 
     
     
         17 . A soldier platform system in a vehicle, comprising:
 a seat assembly comprising a seat and straps, wherein at least one of the straps comprises one or more sections, and wherein the one or more sections comprise portions of folded strap;   a restraint harness belt, wherein the restraint harness belt is secured to the seat assembly;   mounting assemblies, wherein the straps attach the seat to the mounting assemblies; and   a ratchet platform, comprising:
 a platform upper assembly; and 
 a platform lower assembly. 
   
     
     
         18 . The soldier platform system of  claim 17 , wherein the portions of folded strap comprise breakaway stitching. 
     
     
         19 . The soldier platform system of  claim 17 , wherein the portions of folded strap comprise rivets. 
     
     
         20 . The soldier platform system of  claim 17 , wherein at least one of the sections comprises a container.
