Methods and apparatuses for synchronizing and tracking content

Abstract

In one embodiment, the methods and apparatuses synchronizing and tracking content receive a request corresponding to a specific content; review a record associated with the specific content in response to the request; selectively transmit a confirmation for the request based on the reviewing; and perform the request based on receiving the confirmation.

         2 . A method for receiving and performing a request from a user of a device, comprising:
 receiving, from a user of a device, a request corresponding to content stored in memory accessible by the device;   retrieving, from memory accessible by the device, a record associated with the content;   retrieving, from memory accessible by the device, a preference corresponding to the request; and   performing the request based on the record and preference;   wherein said method is performed by a computer processor executing instructions stored in a memory accessible by the computer processor.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the content includes one of a photograph, image, music, video and document. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the request includes deletion of the content. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein retrieving the record associated with the content includes retrieving an original record of the content and any duplicates of the content. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the retrieve preference initiates a confirmation to the user confirming deletion of the content. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the duplicate of the content is identified with an identifier different from the original content. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the preference is customizable.
