Abstract

A method and apparatus may be used to receive a first transmission. The first transmission of data bits may have a first redundancy version in a transmission time interval (TTI) from either a first node or a second node. The first transmission may have a first redundancy version in a TTI from both the first node and the second node. The method and apparatus may receive a second transmission of the data bits having a second redundancy version in a second TTI. The second transmission may be received from a different one of the first node, the second node, or both the first node and the second node. The first and second redundancy versions may be different redundancy versions. The method and apparatus may combine the received bits of the first and second transmissions to recover the first data bits.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
circuitry configured to receive a first transmission of first data bits having a first redundancy version in a transmission time interval (TTI) from either a first node, a second node or both the first node and the second node; and the circuitry is further configured to receive a second transmission of the first data bits having a second redundancy version in a second TTI from a different one of the first node, the second node or both the first node and the second node; wherein the first and the second redundancy versions are different redundancy versions; and the circuitry is further configured to combine received bits of the first and second transmissions to recover the first data bits.

2 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the first transmission or the second transmission was transmitted using spatial multiplexing.

3 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the redundancy versions utilize incremental redundancy.

4 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the first transmission prioritizes systematic bits.

5 . The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the circuitry is further configured to transmit channel quality indices for the first node and the second node.

6 . The WTRU of claim 5 wherein the channel quality indices are transmitted in a same transmission.

7 . A method for use in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
receiving a first transmission of first data bits having a first redundancy version in a transmission time interval (TTI) from either a first node, a second node or both the first node and the second node; and receiving a second transmission of the first data bits having a second redundancy version in a second TTI from a different one of the first node, the second node or both the first node and the second node; wherein the first and the second redundancy versions are different redundancy versions; and combining received bits of the first and second transmissions to recover the first data bits.

8 . The method of claim 7 wherein the first transmission or the second transmission was transmitted using spatial multiplexing.

9 . The method of claim 7 wherein the redundancy versions utilize incremental redundancy.

10 . The method of claim 7 wherein the first transmission prioritizes systematic bits.

11 . The method of claim 7 further comprising:
transmitting channel quality indices for the first node and the second node.

12 . The method of claim 11 wherein the channel quality indices are transmitted in a same transmission.
