System and Method for Creating Ink Art

Abstract

A system, method and apparatus is disclosed for coloring a substantially wicking substrate comprising applying to a substantially wicking substrate an ink comprising a first dye and a second dye to define a region of reference; applying a first solvent to the substantially wicking substrate to move the first dye and the second dye within the body of the substantially wicking substrate; moving the two dyes in a defined direction to carry the two dyes outside of the defined region to color an area of the wicking substrate to color at least a portion of the substantially wicking substrate.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for coloring a substantially wicking substrate comprising:
 applying to a substantially wicking substrate an ink which is insoluble in a solvent;   applying over the ink on the substantially wicking substrate a dye which is soluble in the solvent to hide the underlying ink; and   applying the solvent to the substantially wicking substrate to move the soluble dye in a direction to reveal the insoluble ink on the substantially wicking substrate wherein the solvent does not move the insoluble ink from its position on the substantially wicking substrate.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the insoluble ink is applied to the substantially wicking substrate as a message. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein a first user applies the insoluble ink and the soluble dye and a second user applies the solvent.
