Abstract

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate which sandwiches a liquid crystal between itself and the first substrate, wherein the first substrate has thin film transistors and a wiring connection portion in which are formed terminals connected to the thin film transistors, a wiring substrate connected to the terminals is disposed in the wiring connection portion, the second substrate is a plastic substrate, and has an adhesive layer and an inorganic insulating layer formed on top of the adhesive layer, and the adhesive layer covers the wiring connection portion and one portion of the wiring substrate.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A display device comprising:
a first substrate composed of flexible material; a TFT layer formed above the first substrate; a display area including a plurality of display elements formed above the TFT layer; a wiring connection portion which has a plurality of terminals, a second substrate composed of flexible material, which is arranged to face the first substrate; a first adhesive formed between the first substrate and the second substrate and arranged to surround the display area in plan view; a second adhesive formed between the first substrate and the second substrate and arranged to overlap the display area in plan view; and a wiring substrate connected to the plurality of terminals, wherein a part of the second substrate and the second adhesive overlap on the wiring connection portion in plan view.

2 . The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising:
an inorganic insulating layer including a silicon nitride between the first substrate and the TFT layer.

3 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein
the wiring substrate is a flexible printed circuit.

4 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein
the first adhesive and the second adhesive are contacted each other at least a part of peripheral region of the display area.

         5 . A display device comprising:
a first substrate composed of flexible material; a TFT layer formed above the first substrate; a display area including a plurality of display elements formed above the TFT layer; a wiring connection portion which has a plurality of terminals, a second substrate composed of flexible material, which is arranged to face the first substrate; an adhesive formed between the first substrate and the second substrate and arranged to overlap the display area in plan view; and a wiring substrate is connected to the plurality of terminals, wherein a part of the second substrate and the adhesive overlap on the wiring connection portion in plan view.

6 . The display device according to claim 5 , further comprising:
an inorganic insulating layer including a silicon nitride between the first substrate and the TFT layer.

7 . The display device according to claim 5 , wherein
the wiring substrate is a flexible printed circuit.
