Systems and methods for generating and displaying an intellectual property rights profile for a media presentation

Abstract

A system, computer readable media, GUI, and apparatus are provided that are configured to generate and display an intellectual property rights profile for a media presentation. Information to be included in an intellectual property rights profile may be entered into a provided data entry template by, for example, a user or administrator of the media presentation. Uploaded documents may be added to an intellectual property rights profile and later accessed by a subsequent user. In some cases, a status, for example, complete or incomplete, may be determined for an intellectual property rights profile and an action may be initiated based on the status.

1 . A method for consolidating intellectual property rights information for a media presentation into an intellectual property rights profile for the media presentation, where intellectual property rights information includes intellectual property rights data related to the media presentation and an uploaded document related to the intellectual property rights profile of the media presentation, the method comprising:
 receiving intellectual property rights data related to the media presentation;   receiving an uploaded document related to the media presentation; and   consolidating the received intellectual property rights data and uploaded document into a consolidated intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 presenting the consolidated intellectual property rights profile to a user; and   accessing a document from the consolidated intellectual property rights profile by the user.   
     
     
         3 . A system comprising:
 a client;   a server coupled to the client; and   a database coupled to the server,   wherein the client displays a graphical user interface which receives a first input from a user, wherein the first input comprises a set of intellectual property rights information associated with a creation of a multimedia presentation, wherein the set of intellectual property rights information comprises at least one of a personal release, a location release, a music cue list, a shot sheet, an errors and omissions certificate, a synopsis, a script, a credits list, or a lower thirds license, wherein the client sends the set of intellectual property rights information to the server, wherein the server receives the set of intellectual property rights information from the client, wherein the server stores the set of intellectual property rights information in the database, wherein the server retrieves the set intellectual property rights information from the database, wherein the server generates a consolidated intellectual property rights profile for the multimedia presentation based at least in part on the set of intellectual property rights information, wherein the server sends the consolidated intellectual property rights profile to the client, wherein the client displays the consolidated intellectual property rights profile via the graphical user interface, wherein the client displays the graphical user interface which receives a second input from the user, wherein at least one of the first input or the second input sets an indicator to at least one of enable or disable a release of the multimedia presentation based at least in part on a status of at least one of the personal release, the location release, the music cue list, the shot sheet, the errors and omissions certificate, the synopsis, the script, the credits list, or the lower thirds license.   
     
     
         4 . A method comprising:
 receiving, by a server, a request from a client, requesting an access by the client to a data entry template associated with a media presentation, wherein the media presentation is associated with intellectual property rights information stored in a database coupled to the server;   facilitating, by the server, a display of the data entry template on the client in response to the request;   receiving, by the server, data input into the data entry template via the client, wherein the data comprises at least one of a personal release, a location release, a music cue list, a shot sheet, an errors and omissions certificate, a synopsis, a script, a credits list, or a lower thirds license;   storing, by the server, the data and an address in the database, wherein the address is associated with a location of an electronic version of at least one underlying document identified by the data;   generating, by the server, an intellectual property rights profile associated with the media presentation based at least in part on the intellectual property rights information and the data retrieved from the database, wherein the generating comprises analyzing the intellectual property rights information and the data; and   facilitating, by the server, a display of the intellectual property rights profile on the client.   
     
     
         5 . A method comprising:
 facilitating, by a server, a display of a list on a client, wherein the list lists a media presentation, wherein the list is specific to a user operating the client;   receiving, by the server, a selection from the client, wherein the selection selects the media presentation;   facilitating, by the server, a display of a data entry template on the client based at least in part on the selection;   receiving, by the server, data input into the data entry template via the client, wherein the data is associated with the media presentation, wherein the data comprises at least one of a personal release, a location release, a music cue list, a shot sheet, an errors and omissions certificate, a synopsis, a script, a credits list, or a lower thirds license;   storing, by the server, the data on a database coupled to the server;   generating, by the server, an intellectual property rights profile of the media presentation based at least in part on the data retrieved from the database, wherein the generating comprises analyzing the data associated with the media presentation; and   facilitating, by the server, a display of the intellectual property rights profile on the client.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of a notice on the client, wherein the notice is associated with at least one of the media presentation, the data entry template, or the intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 determining, by the server, a status of at least one of the data entry template, the intellectual property rights profile, or the media presentation.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of the status on the client.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of a notice on the client, wherein the notice notifies of the status.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 determining, by the server, whether to initiate an action based on the status; and   initiating, by the server, an action based on the determining.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of an option on the client, wherein the option is associated with at least one of the data entry template, the intellectual property rights profile, or the media presentation;   receiving, by the server, a selection of the option from the client; and   executing, by the server, a function based at least in part on the selection.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the intellectual property rights profile is a first intellectual property rights profile, wherein the media presentation is a first media presentation, and further comprising:
 linking, by the server, at least a portion of the first intellectual property rights profile of the first media presentation to at least a portion of a second intellectual property rights profile of a second media presentation.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the media presentation is a first media presentation, wherein the first media presentation and a second media presentation are a part of a series of media presentations. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of a report page on the client, wherein the report page comprises at least a portion of the intellectual property rights profile, wherein the report page comprises an icon, which upon activation, initiates an opening of an electronic version of an underlying document of the intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 facilitating, by the server, a display of a summary page on the client, wherein the summary page comprises a list of portions of the intellectual property rights profile and a status of the portions of the intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 initiating, by the server, an action based at least in part on a completion of the intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 receiving, by the server, a document from the client; and   associating, by the server, the document with the intellectual property rights profile.   
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 granting, by the server, an access to the client, wherein the access is to a library of media presentations related to the media presentation.   
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein the server is configured to control a user access to the intellectual property rights profile, to grant the user access, to receive a status determination of the intellectual property rights profile based at least in part on the user access, and to initiate an action based on the status determination, wherein the status determination is based at least in part on whether the intellectual property rights profile is at least one of complete or accurate, wherein the action comprises at least one of a signal to release a fund to a producer of the multimedia presentation or a request for more profile information, wherein the user access is via the client. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein the server is configured to facilitate a display of a list on the client, wherein the list lists the multimedia presentation, wherein the multimedia presentation is referred via a reference, wherein the reference refers to the intellectual property rights profile. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein the intellectual property rights profile is a first intellectual property rights profile, wherein the multimedia presentation is a first multimedia presentation, wherein the server is configured to link at least a portion of the first intellectual property rights profile of the first multimedia presentation to at least a portion of a second intellectual property rights profile of a second multimedia presentation, wherein the server is configured to generate the second intellectual property rights profile. 
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 3 , wherein the server is configured to determine whether at least one of the personal release, the location release, the music cue list, the shot sheet, the errors and omissions certificate, the synopsis, the script, the credits list, or the lower thirds license has been at least one of obtained or completed. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 determining, by the server, whether at least one of the personal release, the location release, the music cue list, the shot sheet, the errors and omissions certificate, the synopsis, the script, the credits list, or the lower thirds license has been at least one of obtained or completed.
