Abstract

This disclosure provides compositions and method useful for treating cell proliferative disorders including cancer. The disclosure provides cannabidiol derivatives and compositions thereof either alone or in combination with THC or a derivative thereof.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A composition consisting of cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the CBD comprises a dose to achieve a circulating plasma concentration of CBD at about the IC 50  or greater for CBD in a human for breast cancer or brain cancer. 
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the THC comprises a dose to achieve a circulating plasma concentration of THC at the IC 50  in human for breast cancer or brain cancer. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the brain cancer is glioblastoma multiforme. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , further comprising an anticancer agent. 
     
     
         5 . The composition of  claim 1 , formulated for intravenous administration. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is formulated for extended release. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is formulated for oral delivery. 
     
     
         8 . A method of treating breast cancer or brain cancer in a subject comprising administering the composition of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the administering is oral administration of the composition. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the administering is intravenously. 
     
     
         11 . A method of treating glioblastoma multiforme in a subject comprising administering the composition of  claim 1 .
