Sawing machine for sawing metal workpieces
Abstract
A sawing machine having a sawing bench and clamping jaws, which are movable back and forth, for positioning workpieces, and an upper saw part generates a sawing feeding movement extending in a cutting plane and carries a sawing tool. A machine controller controls movement sequences and the clamping jaws to clamp the workpiece in a zero position with a front end side of the workpiece located in the cutting plane, and moves the clamped workpiece from the zero position into a cutting position. The machine controller clamps the workpiece in the clamping jaws and then waits for an offset value input which corresponds to the distance of the front end side of the workpiece from the zero position. Then, it moves the workpiece into the zero position by advancing or retracting the clamping jaws, taking into consideration the offset value, re-clamping it and moving it into the cutting position by way of a feeding movement.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A sawing machine for sawing metal workpieces, comprising a machine frame ( 1 ) including a sawing bench ( 2 ), clamping jaws ( 8 ), which are movable back and forth, for positioning workpieces on the sawing bench ( 2 ), an upper saw part attached to the machine frame ( 1 ), movable relative to the sawing bench ( 2 ) in order to generate a sawing feeding movement extending in a cutting plane ( 7 ), a sawing tool ( 6 ) which is driven so as to generate a material-removing sawing movement on the upper saw part, and a machine controller for controlling movement sequences, the machine controller is configured to actuate the clamping jaws ( 8 ) to clamp the workpiece in a zero position in which a front end side of the workpiece is located in the cutting plane ( 7 ), and to move the clamped workpiece by way of a feeding movement from the zero position into a cutting position in which that point of the workpiece at which the workpiece is intended to be sawn off is located in the cutting plane ( 7 ), wherein the machine controller is further configured to clamp the workpiece placed on the sawing bench ( 2 ) in the clamping jaws ( 8 ) and then receives an input of an offset value which corresponds to a distance of the front end side of the workpiece from the zero position, and then moves the workpiece into the zero position by advancing or retracting the clamping jaws ( 8 ), taking into consideration the offset value, re-clamping the workpiece, and then moving the workpiece into the cutting position by way of the feeding movement.
2 . The sawing machine according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the sawing bench ( 2 ), the clamping jaws ( 8 ), or a lateral stop face on the sawing bench ( 2 ) is provided with a length scale ( 10 ).
3 . The sawing machine according to claim 2 , wherein the length scale ( 10 ) is engraved.
4 . The sawing machine according to claim 3 , further comprising a device for reading a position of the end side of the workpiece from the length scale ( 10 ) and for transmitting the read length value to the machine controller.
5 . The sawing machine according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the sawing bench ( 2 ), the clamping jaws ( 8 ), or a lateral stop face on the sawing bench ( 2 ) are provided with a device for automatically detecting the end face of the workpiece and for transmitting the distance between the detected position of the end side of the workpiece and the cutting plane ( 7 ) to the machine controller.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
