Abstract

A method and a server for determining a service level in a network for a user. The network includes information on the at least one user and at least one application associated with the at least one user. In the method at least one application is classified into a group among multiple groups according to an importance set for each of the at least one application, utilization of network resources by each of the application is determined by monitoring a characteristic within the network, at least one network parameter is determined for each of the groups based on the utilization of the network resources, a group in which exists at least one most important application associated with the user is determined, and the service level is provided for the user, which corresponds to the determined group.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for determining a service level in a network for a user, wherein the network comprises information on the at least one user and at least one application associated with the at least one user, the method comprising
classifying the at least one application into a group among multiple groups according to an importance set for each of the at least one application, determining utilization of network resources by each of the application by monitoring at least one predetermined characteristic within the network, determining, based on the utilization of the network resources, at least one network parameter for each of the groups, determining a group in which exists at least one most important application associated with the user, and providing the user the service level in the network by setting the at least one network parameter corresponding to the determined group.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the importance set for each of the at least one application is defined individually for each of the at least one application.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the importance set for each of the at least one application is defined by classifying each of the at least one application to one or more predetermined application groups, the application groups comprising an individual importance.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one network parameter for each of the group comprises a network configuration set for each of the group.

5 . A server configured to determine a service level in a network for a user, wherein the network comprises information on the at least one user and at least one application associated with the at least one user, the server comprising
       one or more processors; and
       a memory including computer program code;
the memory and the computer program code configured to, with the processor, cause the server at least to perform:
classify the at least one application into a group among multiple groups according to an importance set for each of the at least one application,
determine utilization of network resources by each of the application by monitoring at least one predetermined characteristic within the network,
determine, based on the utilization of the network resources, at least one network parameter for each of the groups,
determine a group in which exists at least one most important application associated with the user, and
provide the user the service level in the network by setting the at least one network parameter corresponding to the determined group.

6 . The server according to claim 5 , wherein the server is configured to define the importance set for each of the at least one application individually for each of the at least one application.

7 . The server according to claim 5 , wherein the server is configured to define the importance set for each of the at least one application by classifying each of the at least one application to one or more predetermined application groups, the application groups comprising an individual importance.

8 . The server according to claim 5 , wherein the server is configured to determine a network configuration set for each of the group as the at least one network parameter for each of the group.
