Abstract

This disclosure provides adjuvant compositions that are capable of modulating the immune response in a subject. These adjuvant compositions may also be used enhance the immunogenicity of antigens. Also provided are methods of making the adjuvant compositions as well as methods of using the adjuvant compositions.

         30 . A composition comprising:
 (a) a pharmaceutically acceptable vegetable oil selected from the group consisting of corn oil, olive oil, coconut oil, safflower oil, soybean oil and canola oil;   (b) a flavonoid; and   (c) a vitamin.   
     
     
         31 . The composition of  claim 30 , wherein said flavonoid is a catechin. 
     
     
         32 . The composition of  claim 31 , wherein said catechin is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). 
     
     
         33 . The composition of  claim 30 , wherein said composition comprises more than one flavonoid. 
     
     
         34 . The composition of  claim 30 , wherein said vitamin is selected from the group consisting of vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D and mixtures thereof. 
     
     
         35 . The composition of  claim 34 , wherein said vitamin is vitamin E. 
     
     
         36 . The composition of  claim 34 , wherein said vitamin is vitamin A. 
     
     
         37 . The composition of  claim 34 , wherein said vitamin is vitamin C. 
     
     
         38 . The composition of  claim 34 , wherein said vitamin is vitamin D. 
     
     
         39 . The composition of  claim 30 , further comprising an antigen. 
     
     
         40 . The composition of  claim 39 , wherein the antigen is influenza antigen. 
     
     
         41 . A method of modulating an immune response in a subject comprising administering the adjuvant composition of  claim 30  to said subject. 
     
     
         42 . The method of  claim 41 , wherein the subject is a mammal.
