Abstract

The present invention relates generally to a system for waterproofing a wall 7 having a wall opening through which a water combination 6 extends. The system comprises a sleeve 1 including a collar 12 having a resiliently flexible portion adapted to expand to fit about the water combination 6 . The waterproofing system also comprises a coupling element 3 separate from the sleeve 1 . The coupling element 3 is arranged to seal to the sleeve 1 and the wall 7 or associate tiles 8 to which the water combination 6 is mounted.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A system for waterproofing a wall having a wall opening through which a water combination extends, the system comprising:
a sleeve including a collar having a resiliently flexible portion adapted to expand to fit about the water combination, the collar including an aperture with an aperture size smaller than a cross-sectional area of the water combination wherein the flexible portion of the collar is adapted to slip over the water combination; a coupling element separate from the sleeve, the coupling element arranged to seal to the sleeve and the wall to which the water combination is mounted.

2 . A system for waterproofing a wall opening through which a water combination extends, the system comprising:
a sleeve being elongate and adapted at a rear end to fit to the water combination; a coupling element separate from the sleeve, the coupling element arranged to seal to the sleeve at a location along its length dependent on the wall thickness, the coupling element adapted to sealably mount to the wall wherein the sleeve is designed to be adjusted to be substantially flush with the wall.

3 . A system as defined in claim 2 , wherein the sleeve is adapted to be trimmed or cut to become substantially flush with the wall.

4 . A system for waterproofing a wall as defined in claim 3 , wherein the sleeve at its rear end includes a collar having a resiliently flexible portion adapted to expand to fit about the water combination.

         5 - 27 . (canceled)

28 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the coupling element includes a flange for facilitating sealing the coupling element to the wall.

29 . A system as defined in claim 28 , wherein the coupling element includes a flange return connected to the flange for facilitating sealing the coupling element to the sleeve.

30 . A system as defined in claim 29 , wherein the flange return is adapted to be sealed to an outer surface of the sleeve.

31 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the sleeve in use includes a front or exposed end and a rear or unexposed end.

32 . A system as defined in claim 31 , wherein the front or exposed end is adapted to be sealed to the coupling element, and the rear or unexposed end is adapted to be sealed to the water combination.

33 . A method for waterproofing a wall having a wall opening through which a water combination extends, the method comprising the steps of:
fitting a sleeve including a resiliently flexible collar to the water combination, the collar being expanded to fit about the water combination; sealing a coupling element separate from the sleeve to the sleeve; sealing the coupling element to the wall; and adjusting the sleeve to be substantially flush with the wall.

34 . The method as defined in claim 33 , wherein the step of adjusting the sleeve to be substantially flush with the wall includes the step of trimming or cutting the sleeve to become substantially flush with the wall.

35 . The method as defined in claim 33 , further comprising the step of sealing the collar to the water combination.
