Abstract
An organic waste odor absorbing composition for the absorption of odors resulting from decomposing organic waste is disclosed. The composition comprises dried carbon and/or silica based matter, either natural or synthetic. The carbon-based materials consist of 35% to 85% holocellulose and 8% to 30% lignin. The silica-based materials consist of 40% to 80% silica. The materials may be mechanically sized to allow for adequate airflow and surface area exposure to the organic waste.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An organic waste odor absorbing composition for a receptacle adapted to contain organic waste, the composition comprising materials consisting essentially of carbon and/or silica, either natural or synthetic.
2 . The composition according to claim 1 wherein the said carbon based materials consist essentially of (by percent of dry weight):
a. 35% to 85% holocellulose
b. 8% to 30% lignin
3 . The composition according to claim 1 wherein the said silica based materials consist essentially of (by percent of dry weight):
a. 40% to 80% silica
4 . The composition according to claim 1 wherein the said material or materials are mechanically sized if necessary to between a particle size of 0.002 millimeters to a larger piece of 300 by 300 by 300 millimeters.
5 . The composition in claim 1 further comprising scents consisting of natural or synthetic oil extracts.
6 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein the extract comprises pleasant smelling fragrances.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
