Method and system for sending messages per channel
Abstract
Techniques for electronically engaging customers across all different platforms are disclosed. Based on unique device identifiers captured together with interactions by users with one or more applications provided by a business, a message prepared in a first format is automatically converted to a corresponding message in a second format according to what the devices the user have been interacting with can support. Depending on implementation, the message may be a response by the business to an inquiry from a user or a promotion by the business to be distributed to a group of selected users maintained by the business. The interactions include activities a user has had with one or more of the applications provided by the business and provide the statistical or actual data for the business to determine the group of users to receive the message.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A computer implemented method for operating a mobile device associated with a user, the computer implemented method comprising causing at least one processor to execute a plurality of instructions for:
identifying a set of threshold criteria for causing a display, at the mobile device, of a first user interface prompting the user to initiate a procedure at the mobile device; determining when an occurrence of an end of call event has been detected at the mobile device, the end of call event relating to a termination of a phone call conducted at the mobile device; displaying a second interface at the mobile communication device, when the set of threshold criteria has been satisfied, to allow the user to enter a message related to the call, wherein a microphone on the mobile device receives a voice from the user; and transcribing the voice into text, wherein the text is entered automatically as part of the message.
2 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the second interface facilitates the user to access a database.
3 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 2 , wherein the database is a contact list residing in the mobile device.
4 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 3 , wherein the end of call event is when the phone call is ended or the phone call is not picked up.
5 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the message is a text message related to the phone call.
6 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 5 , wherein the database is a contact list residing in the mobile device.
7 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the message is an email message related to the phone call, an email address is automatically inserted when selected by the user.
8 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 7 , wherein the message is stored locally as a note till the message is sent out.
9 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 7 , wherein the email message includes a subject heading automatically populated with information related to the phone call.
10 . The computer implemented method as recited in claim 9 , wherein the information a name of a person with whom the phone call occurred, or date and time of the phone call.
11 . An apparatus comprising:
at least one processor; at least one interface operable to provide a communication link to at least one network device; a display screen; memory; the at least one processor being operable to execute the plurality of instructions stored in the memory, and being operable to operate with the memory and the at least one interface for:
identifying a set of threshold criteria for causing a display, at the mobile device, of a first user interface prompting the user to initiate a procedure at the mobile device;
determining when an occurrence of an end of call event has been detected at the mobile device, the end of call event relating to a termination of a phone call conducted at the mobile device;
displaying a second interface at the mobile communication device, when the set of threshold criteria has been satisfied, to allow the user to enter a message related to the call, wherein a microphone on the mobile device receives a voice from the user; and
transcribing the voice into text, wherein the text is entered automatically as part of the message.
12 . The apparatus as recited in claim 11 , wherein the second interface facilitates the user to access a database.
13 . The apparatus as recited in claim 12 , wherein the database is a contact list residing in the mobile device.
14 . The apparatus as recited in claim 13 , wherein the end of call event is when the phone call is ended or the phone call is not picked up.
15 . The apparatus as recited in claim 11 , wherein the message is a text message related to the phone call.
16 . The apparatus as recited in claim 15 , wherein the database is a contact list residing in the mobile device.
17 . The apparatus as recited in claim 11 , wherein the message is an email message related to the phone call, an email address is automatically inserted when selected by the user.
18 . The apparatus as recited in claim 17 , wherein the message is stored locally as a note till the message is sent out.
19 . The apparatus as recited in claim 17 , wherein the email message includes a subject heading automatically populated with information related to the phone call.
20 . The apparatus as recited in claim 19 , wherein the information a name of a person with whom the phone call occurred, or date and time of the phone call.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
