Full body coat

Abstract

The invention is directed to a full body coat, covering the body down to the wrists and ankles, but easily separable into a hooded jacket and a pair of pants. The jacket and pants are joined at the waist by a removable zipper, with the lower edge of the jacket overlapping the zipper to prevent heat loss. The wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs are both elastic and adjustable, to accommodate footwear and gloves of any size and thickness. The combined garment is water resistant, and designed to accommodate the most active user, with a full range of motion at the shoulders, hips, waist, elbows, and knees.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A full body coat, comprising:
 (a) a jacket;   (b) said jacket having a lower edge, a hood, elbows, jacket pockets, and wrist cuffs;   (c) a pair of pants;   (d) said pants having an upper edge, knees, seat area, pants pockets, an outer seam, and ankle cuffs;   (e) said hood being affixed to a neckline of said jacket;   (f) said jacket and said pants being seperably joined at said lower edge and said upper edge via a zipper; and   (g) said upper section overlapping said zipper.   
     
     
         2 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said wrist cuffs and said ankle cuffs are elastic. 
     
     
         3 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said wrist cuffs and said ankle cuffs are adjustable and configured to tighten around a user's wrists, ankles, gloves or boots. 
     
     
         4 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said jacket, said pants, said wrist cuffs, and said ankle cuffs are water resistant. 
     
     
         5 . The full body coat of  claim 2 , wherein said jacket, said pants, said wrist cuffs, and said ankle cuffs are water resistant. 
     
     
         6 . The full body coat of  claim 3 , wherein said jacket, said pants, said wrist cuffs, and said ankle cuffs are water resistant. 
     
     
         7 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said hood further comprises a drawstring. 
     
     
         8 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said jacket further comprises a front zipper;
 said front zipper being concealed by a front flap; said front flap being closable over said front zipper by a plurality of fasteners.   
     
     
         9 . The full body coat of  claim 8 , wherein said plurality of fasteners are either buttons, snaps, or hook-and-loop fasteners. 
     
     
         10 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of patches; said patches being affixed to said elbow, knee, and seat area; said plurality of patches being made of heavy duty water proof fabric. 
     
     
         11 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said pants and jacket further comprise a removable washable fabric liner. 
     
     
         12 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said pants pockets and jacket pockets are configured to fit a user's hands wearing gloves; said pants pockets and jacket pockets further comprising heavy duty lining; said pants pockets and jacket pockets are closable by a fastener; said fastener being buttons, snaps, or hook-and-loop fasteners. 
     
     
         13 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said outer seam further comprises an elongated pocket. 
     
     
         14 . The full body coat of  claim 1 , wherein said ankle cuffs further comprise foot straps; said foot straps being affixed to said ankle cuff; said foot straps being configured to wrap around a user's foot to secure said ankle cuffs around a user's ankle.
