Managing cache to prevent overloading of a wireless network due to user activity
Abstract
System and method of detection and management of user interactions with foreground applications on a mobile device in distributed caching are disclosed. One embodiment includes a method of mimicking, remote from the mobile device, timing characteristics of user activity with the mobile client, polling a content source for the mobile application based on the timing characteristics of the user interaction, on behalf of the mobile device and allowing responses cached on the mobile device for the user activity to be used until a change at the content source is detected, remote from the mobile device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for preventing overloading of a wireless network due to user activity of a user, the method, comprising:
querying a resource requested in the activity, but remote from the user, based on timing characteristics of the activity of the user in the wireless network; receiving a response for the querying of the resource; wherein the response is used to determine if cached content on the mobile device for the activity directed towards the resources is valid.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, the activity of the user is performed in using an application on a mobile device in the wireless network; wherein the resource corresponds to the application on the mobile device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, the activity is associated with a time to live indicating an amount of time for which the resource is to be queried remotely from the user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
