Method of using cistanche tubulosa extract for preparing drugs or food to protect eye cells

Abstract

This invention provides a method of using of extract of Cistanche tubulosa . The extract was used to prepare drugs or food for protecting eye cells. The extract has a good protective effect for eye cells, and can be further developed to drugs or food for preventing eye disease or slow downing the progress of eye disease.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of using extract of extract of  Cistanche tubulosa  for preparing drugs or food to protect eye cells. 
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the extract of extract of  Cistanche tubulosa  comprises echinacoside, acteoside, isoacteoside, tubuloside A, or a combination thereof. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein a form of the drugs is capsule, tablet, powder, or liquid. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the drugs or food prevent, slow downslow down, or treat eye diseases. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the eye diseases are macular degeneration, macular hole, retinopathy, or glaucoma. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the macular degeneration is age-related macular degeneration, dry macular degeneration, or wet macular degeneration. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the age-related macular degeneration is dry macular degeneration or wet macular degeneration. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein a form of the drugs is capsule, tablet, powder, or liquid. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the retinopathy is diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, retina disease, retinal artery and vein occlusion, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, or central serous retinopathy. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein a form of the drugs is capsule, tablet, powder, or liquid.
