The packaging machine includes a filling device for filling the open-mouth bags through a filling end. A closing device is provided with which the filling end can be sealed to be completely tight after the filling process by a weld seam. An additional welding device is provided. The additional welding device is suitable and configured to place in the gussets of the open-mouth bags two additional holding seams laterally spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction and oriented approximately parallel to the weld seam.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein a selection device can be activated for selecting a bag material and wherein in dependence on the bag material selected the additional welding device can be activated.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein the additional welding device comprises two pairs of welding jaws laterally spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction.

. The packaging machine according to claim 3 , wherein the pairs of welding jaws of the additional welding device show different cross sections and/or coatings over their width for generating different welding temperatures over the width.

. The packaging machine according to claim 3 , wherein the pairs of welding jaws of the additional welding device have a width that is less than a depth of the gussets of the open-mouth bags intended for filling.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein the additional welding device comprises at least over the bag width a continuous welding strip which in the region of the gussets has a higher electric resistance than in a central section between the gussets.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein the electric resistance of the welding strip over the depth of the gussets is lower in an outer section than in an inner section.

. The packaging machine according to claim 7 , wherein the welding temperature in the outer section is more than 20 Kelvin higher and in particular more than 40 Kelvin higher than in the inner section.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein at least one corner welding device is provided which is suitable and configured to place corner weld seams in the gussets at least at the filling end.

. The packaging machine according to claim 1 , wherein a bag former is provided which is suitable and configured for manufacturing and separating open-mouth bags from a tubular sheet.

. A method for filling product into gusseted open-mouth bags, comprising: the open-mouth bags are filled by means of a filling device through a filling end; and wherein after the filling process the filling end is sealed to be entirely tight by way of at least one weld seam; and wherein an additional welding device places in the gussets of the open-mouth bags at least two additional holding seams laterally spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction and oriented approximately parallel to the weld seam.

. The method according to claim 11 , wherein the additional holding seams are configured to increase in elasticity outwardly.

. The method according to claim 11 , wherein a selection device selects a bag material and wherein in dependence of the bag material selected the additional welding device is activated.

. An open-mouth bag, comprising: a bag body with two ends; wherein the bag body extends over a length between the two ends and has a width transverse thereto; wherein the bag body is enclosed by a bag wall; wherein one of the ends is the bottom end and the other of the ends is the filling end; wherein at least the filling end of the bag body is provided with gussets in side regions in the bag wall so that the filling end of the bag body is provided with a front and a rear bag wall in a central section of the bag body while the gussets in the lateral regions are provided with two each of front and rear bag walls; wherein the bottom end is sealed; wherein the filling end is entirely sealed over the entire width by means of at least one weld seam; and at least the filling end is provided in the side regions in the gussets with at least one additional holding seam that is oriented approximately parallel to the weld seam and at which the two front bag walls and the two rear bag walls are all connected with one another.

. The open-mouth bag according to claim 14 , wherein in the side regions the two front bag walls are connected by way of a front weld seam, and the two rear bag walls are connected by a rear corner weld seam to enable a square shape of the filling end of the bag body.
