Abstract

One object of the present invention is to produce an operation method that allows a player to enjoy moving a character in a game space. In accordance with an aspect, the server device according to an embodiment includes an information storage unit for storing information, a game progression control unit for controlling progression of a game, a display image generating unit for generating an image to be displayed on a display device of the terminal device and displaying the image on the display device, a moving direction setting unit for setting a moving direction of a player character which is operated by the player, a player character control unit for controlling the movement of the player character in the game space, and a non-player character control unit for controlling the movement of a non-player character which is not operated by the player.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A game providing device for providing a game wherein a player operates a player character in a game space, the game providing device being communicatively connected to a display device having a touch panel, the game providing device comprising:
a display image generating unit configured to generate a display image including an image of the game space corresponding to a current position of the player character in the game space and display the display image on the display device; and a player character control unit configured to perform, in response to a touch operation on an object in the display image by the player, movement control of the player character based at least on a type of the object, wherein the player character control unit performs, in response to a touch operation on an object of a first type, a first movement control for moving the player character in a direction toward a specific position in the game space, suspends the first movement control in response to a touch operation on an object of a second type during movement of the player character toward the specific position, and performs a second movement control different from the first movement control.

2 . The game providing device of claim 1 , wherein
the object of the first type includes a button, the game space previously includes one or more pass points, and the first movement control includes moving the player character toward one target pass point included in the one or more pass points in response to a touch operation on the button.

3 . The game providing device of claim 1 , wherein
the object of the first type includes a game content positioned in the game space, the first movement control includes moving the player character toward a position of the game content in response to a touch operation on the game content.

4 . The game providing device of claim 1 ,
the object of the second type includes the player character, the second movement control includes controlling movement of the player character based on a type of the touch operation.

5 . The game providing device of claim 4 wherein the second movement control includes moving, in response to a flick operation on the player character, the player character in a direction of the flick operation.

6 . The game providing device of claim 4 wherein the second movement control includes moving, in response to a drag operation on the player character, the player character along a route of the drag operation.

7 . The game providing device of claim 4 wherein the second movement control includes stopping the player character in response to a tap operation on the player character.

8 . A computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to serve as a game providing device for providing a game wherein a player operates a player character in a game space, the computer being communicatively connected to a display device having a touch panel, the program causing the computer to perform:
a display image generating process for generating a display image including an image of the game space corresponding to a current position of the player character in the game space and displaying the display image on the display device; and a player character control process for performing, in response to a touch operation on an object in the display image by the player, movement control of the player character based at least on a type of the object, wherein the player character control process performs, in response to a touch operation on an object of a first type, a first movement control for moving the player character in a direction toward a specific position in the game space, suspends the first movement control in response to a touch operation on an object of a second type during movement of the player character toward the specific position, and performs a second movement control different from the first movement control.

9 . A method for providing a game wherein a player operates a player character in a game space by using a display device having a touch panel, the method comprising the steps of:
generating a display image including an image of the game space corresponding to a current position of the player character in the game space and displaying the display image on the display device; and performing, in response to a touch operation on an object in the display image by the player, movement control of the player character based at least on a type of the object, wherein the step of performing the movement control includes: performing, in response to a touch operation on an object of a first type, a first movement control for moving the player character in a direction toward a specific position in the game space; suspending the first movement control in response to a touch operation on an object of a second type during movement of the player character toward the specific position; and performing a second movement control different from the first movement control.
