Abstract

A reinforcing apparatus for a double hull vessel including outer and inner shell platings comprises ropes coupled to the inside of the outer shell plating so as to interconnect a bow and a stern of the vessel in a horizontal direction. The reinforcing apparatus for a double hull vessel includes ropes coupled to the inside of an outer shell plating so as to interconnect a bow and a stern of a vessel in a horizontal direction so that when a concentrated load is applied to the vessel during navigation of the vessel due to an external impact such as a collision between a reef or a ship and the vessel to cause a crack occur on the outer shell plating of the hull, the vessel can be supported in a horizontal direction perpendicular to a load application direction of the vessel, thereby effectively preventing the grown of the crack.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A reinforcing apparatus for a double hull vessel including an outer shell plating and an inner shell plating, wherein the improvement comprises a plurality of ropes coupled to the inside of the outer shell plating in such a manner as to interconnect a bow and a stern of the vessel in a horizontal direction.

2 . The reinforcing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of ropes comprises first ropes coupled to the inside of the outer shell plating in such a manner as to be horizontally spaced apart from a bottom of the vessel at predetermined intervals, and second ropes coupled to the inside of the outer shell plating in such a manner as to spaced apart from each other at predetermined intervals while vertically interconnecting the first ropes.

3 . The reinforcing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein each of the ropes is made of any one material selected from among wire, aramid fiber, and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE).

4 . The reinforcing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the ropes is made of any one material selected from among wire, aramid fiber, and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE).
