. The method of claim 1 , wherein treating the disease or condition of the oral cavity includes reducing periodontitis.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein treating the disease or condition of the oral cavity includes reducing caries.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is administered using an aqueous composition.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the aqueous composition has a free water content of at least about 40% by weight.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the aqueous composition has a free water content greater than about 50% by weight.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the aqueous composition has a free water content greater than about 60% by weight.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the aqueous composition is a mouthwash.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the aqueous composition further comprises a fluoride source.

. The method of claim 12 , wherein the fluoride ion source is selected from the group consisting of stannous fluoride, sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, sodium fluorosilicate, ammonium fluorosilicate, amine fluoride, ammonium fluoride, and combinations thereof.

. The method of claim 7 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is present at a concentration of from about 0.01% to about 0.1% by weight of the aqueous composition.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is administered using a paste or gel composition.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is administered using at least one of a mouth rinse, mousse, foam, mouth spray, lozenge, tablet, dental implement, or pet care product.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is administered using a composition comprising the cationic steroidal compound and at least one of a buffering agent, humectant, cellulosic polymer, gum polymer, polyacrylate polymer or co-polymer, colorant, flavor agent, sweetener, breath freshening agent, tartar control agent, saliva stimulating agent, antiplaque agent, or desensitizing agent.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cationic steroidal compound is a compound of Formula (I):

         wherein R 1 is selected from —OH and NH—R 2 , wherein R 2 is C 2 -C 14 alkyl, C 2 -C 14 alkenyl or C 2 -C 14 alkynyl, and n is 3 or 4.

. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula (I), is selected from a compound of Formula (II):
