Storage bin system

Abstract

Disclosed is a method of using a storage bin system including: mounting a bin support on a structure by attaching a mounting adapter of the bin support to the structure; and placing a bin on the bin support. Also disclosed is a method of using a storage bin system including: mounting a bin support to a rail member by connecting a rail adapter of the bin support to the rail member; and detaching the bin support from the rail member by detaching the rail adapter of the bin support from the rail member.

That which is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of using a storage bin system comprising:
 mounting a bin support on a structure by attaching a mounting adapter of the bin support to the structure; and   placing a bin on the bin support.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the structure is a stationary structure, the method further comprising moving the bin support from the stationary structure to a mobile structure. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bin support has open corners, the method further comprising cleaning the bin support by maneuvering debris out of the bin support through a one of the open corners. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein mounting the bin support includes orienting the bottom panel of the bin support at an angle with respect to a horizontal plane. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the structure is a rail member and the mounting adapter is a rail adapter. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising positively fixing the rail adapter onto the rail member with a ball detent mechanism. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising removing the bin support from the structure. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein removing the bin support from the structure includes removing the bin support from the structure while the bin support simultaneously supports a bin. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein removing the bin support from the structure includes removing the bin support from the structure while the bin support simultaneously supports at least two bins. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the structure is a horizontal rail member and the mounting adapter is a rail adapter, wherein the method of removing the bin support from the rail member includes rotating a lower portion of the rail adapter about an upper portion of the rail adapter. 
     
     
         11 . A method of using a storage bin system comprising:
 mounting a bin support to a horizontal rail member by connecting a rail adapter of the bin support to the rail member, the rail adapter removably attached to a rear wall of the bin support and extending from the connection point away from the rear wall; and   detaching the bin support from the horizontal rail member by detaching the rail adapter of the bin support from the horizontal rail member.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising moving the bin support from the horizontal rail member to a mobile structure. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the rail adapter includes an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion defining an engagement surface having an arcuate portion and the lower portion including a ball detent mechanism that positively fixes the rail adapter onto the horizontal rail member. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising mounting a second bin support to the horizontal rail member while the second bin support simultaneously supports a bin, wherein mounting the second bin support comprises positively fixing a rail adapter of the second bin support onto the horizontal rail member with a ball detent mechanism. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein detaching the bin support from the horizontal rail member includes lifting the bin support. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein detaching the bin support from the horizontal rail member includes lifting the bin support using a pair of hand holes on opposing side walls of the bin support. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the bin support has open corners, the method further comprising cleaning the bin support by maneuvering debris out of the bin support through a one of the open corners. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising placing a bin on a bottom panel of the bin support. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , further comprising affixing a label to a label holder and removably attaching the label holder to an end wall of the bin. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein each of the bottom panel of the bin support and the bin include a material having magnetic properties.
