Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A system for treating fecal incontinence comprising:
 (a) plug including: (i) a flimsy stem having an internal bore extending from a proximal end of said stem to region proximally to a nose cone forming a distal end of said flimsy stem; (ii) a flat or cupped-shaped disk attached to said stem proximally to said nose cone; and (b) an applicator rod being positionable within said internal bore, said applicator rod being configured for axially supporting said flimsy stem during delivery of said plug into an anal canal, wherein said rod does not deform said disk when pushed against said plug.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein a distal portion of said flimsy stem tapers in diameter from said flat or cupped-shaped disk in a proximal direction.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein a distal portion of said flimsy stem includes an internal sleeve.

4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said distal portion of said flimsy stem and said flat or cupped-shaped disk are configured for cooperatively sealing said rectal neck where it transitions into the anal canal when said plug is positioned within a subject.
