Abstract

Distillate feeds are hydroprocessed to produce a product having a low content of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The hydroprocessing includes dewaxing and aromatic saturation of the feed. The temperature of the aromatic saturation process can be controlled to make a distillate product having a desired aromatic content, such as less the 0.02 wt % of polyaromatic hydrocarbons having three or more aromatic rings.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A distillate fuel having a polyaromatic hydrocarbon with three or more aromatic rings content of about 0.02 wt % or less.

22 . The distillate fuel of claim 21 , wherein the polyaromatic hydrocarbon with three or more aromatic rings content of the fuel is about 0.015 wt % or less.

23 . The distillate fuel of claim 22 , wherein the polyaromatic hydrocarbon with three or more aromatic rings content of the fuel is about 0.01 wt % or less.

24 . The distillate fuel of claim 21 , wherein the distillate fuel has an aromatic content of about 4 wt % or less.

25 . The distillate fuel of claim 24 , wherein the aromatic content of the fuel is about 3 wt % or less.

26 . The distillate fuel of claim 25 , wherein the aromatic content of the fuel is about 2 wt % or less.

27 . The distillate fuel of claim 21 , wherein the distillate fuel is a diesel fuel.
