Abstract
The invention provides a use of panthenol or dexpanthenol in the prevention and/or treatment of contact lens papillary conjunctivitis in a subject. A contact lens care solution containing 0.001 to 10% by dry weight dexpanthenol is also provided.

7 . A contact lens care solution according to claim 6 , wherein dexpanthenol is present in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by dry weight.
8 . A contact lens care solution according to claim 7 , wherein dexpanthenol is present in an amount of about 2% by dry weight.
9 . A solution according to claim 6 , that is aqueous and isotonic.
10 . A solution according to claim 6 , which Dexpanthenol is the only active component in the solution.

12 . A pharmaceutical composition for treatment of contact lens papillary conjunctivitis or allergic eye disease comprising 0.001 to 10% by dry weight dexpanthenol.
13 . A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 12 , wherein dexpanthenol is present in an amount of about 2% by dry weight and that is aqueous and isotonic.
14 . A composition according to claim 12 , which dexpanthenol is the only active in the composition.
