Exercise Apparatus System

Abstract

A versatile exercise apparatus and system is provided. A cylindrical apparatus having first and second surfaces of either planar or arcuate configuration is configured with plural polygonal openings useable for manipulation of the apparatus or as openings into which various modules may be set to increase the activity versatility of the apparatus. The provided exercise apparatus provides flexibility while economizing on occupied space.

1 . An exercise system comprising:
 a hollow cylindrical structure having a first side and a second side, the first side having plural polygonal openings; and   one or more modules configured for disposition in one or more of the plural polygonal openings in the first side of the cylindrical structure.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1  in which the first side presents an arcuate aspect and the second surface is planar and the apparatus is a cylindrical structure. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 2  in which the cylindrical structure exhibits a half-round cross-sectional profile. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 3  including a module insertable into one of the plural polygonal openings. 
     
     
         5 . An exercise system comprising:
 a hollow prismatic structure having a first planar side and a second planar side at least one of such sides having plural polygonal openings and   one or more modules configured for insertion in one of the plural polygonal openings.   
     
     
         6 . A hollow cylindrical exercise apparatus comprising:
 a substantially half-round arcuate side having a first plurality of polygonal openings;   a substantially planar side opposite the half-round arcuate side, the cylindrical exercise apparatus being comprised of a stiff material.   
     
     
         7 . The cylindrical exercise apparatus of  claim 6  in which the first plurality of polygonal openings comprises four uniformly-spaced regular octagonal openings. 
     
     
         8 . The cylindrical exercise apparatus of  claim 6  further comprising a second plurality of polygonal openings in the substantially planar side which comprise uniformly-spaced regular octagonal openings. 
     
     
         9 . The cylindrical exercise apparatus of  claim 6  in which the stiff material is comprised of polyvinyl chloride.
