22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein each gradient indicates a single value of the environmental parameter.
23 . The method of claim 21 , comprising displaying 3-D representations of one or more equipment enclosures placed within the datacenter, wherein the 2-D planes each correspond to a displayed surface of the one or more equipment enclosures.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the 2-D planes each correspond to a distinct horizontal plane at an elevation level at which at least some of the data sensors are located.
25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the environmental parameter comprises temperature, the data sensors comprise temperature sensors, and the real-time data samples comprise temperature data.
26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein generating the processed data values is further based upon historical data samples that comprise time-tagged real-time data samples that are time-sequentially stored in a database.
27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein generating the processed data values is further based upon one or more calculated values.
28 . The method of claim 27 , comprising:
time-sequentially storing time-tagged real-time data samples in a database as historical data samples; and combining at least some of the real-time data samples and one or more of the historical data samples to produce the one or more calculated values.
29 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the environmental parameter comprises humidity, air flow, or power consumption.
30 . A system for monitoring a datacenter parameter of a datacenter, comprising:
sensors disposed at multiple elevations in equipment racks in the datacenter, the sensors to provide real-time sampled data to a processing system, the real-time sampled data corresponding to the datacenter parameter; the processing system to:
interpolate values corresponding to the datacenter parameter within two-dimensional (2-D) planes in between at least some of the sensors;
generate processed data values based at least in part on the real-time sampled data and the interpolated values; and
map the processed data values to graduations of colors; and
a computer system to display the processed data values on a display, the processed data values displayed represented as the graduations of colors on the 2-D planes within a three-dimensional (3-D) space of the datacenter.
31 . The system of claim 30 , wherein each graduation indicates a single value of the datacenter parameter.
32 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the datacenter parameter comprises an environmental parameter, and wherein at least some of the 2-D planes each correspond to a displayed surface of the equipment racks.
33 . The system of claim 30 , wherein the datacenter parameter comprises temperature, wherein the sensors are coupled to the processing system via a network, and wherein the computer system comprises an operator workstation.
34 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising software that causes a processor to:
collect real-time data samples of an environmental parameter from data sensors in a datacenter; interpolate values of the environmental parameter within two-dimensional (2-D) planes in between at least some of the real-time data samples; generate processed data values of the environmental parameter based at least in part on the real-time data samples and the interpolated values; and map the processed data values to gradients of colors.
35 . The computer-readable medium of claim 34 , wherein the software causes the processor to display the processed data values as the gradients of colors on the 2-D planes within a three-dimensional (3-D) space representing the datacenter.
36 . The computer-readable medium of claim 34 , wherein each gradient indicates a single value of the environmental parameter.
37 . The computer-readable medium of claim 34 , wherein the software causes the processor to display 3-D representations of one or more equipment enclosures in the datacenter, wherein at least some of the 2-D planes each correspond to a displayed surface of the one or more equipment enclosures.
38 . The computer-readable medium of claim 34 , wherein at least some of the 2-D planes each correspond to a horizontal plane located at an elevation level at which at least some of the sensors are located.
39 . The computer-readable medium of claim 37 , wherein to generate the processed data values is further based upon historical data samples that comprise time-tagged real-time data samples that are time-sequentially stored in a database, and wherein the environmental parameter comprises temperature.
40 . The computer-readable medium of claim 34 , wherein the software further causes the processor to:
time-sequentially store time-tagged real-time data samples in a database as historical data samples; and combine at least some of the real-time data samples and one or more of the historical data samples to give one or more calculated values, and wherein to generate the processed data values is further based upon the one or more calculated values.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
