Abstract

The disclosure provides compounds of formula I, including their salts, as well as compositions and methods of using the compounds. The compounds are ligands for the nicotinic α7 receptor and may be useful for the treatment of various disorders of the central nervous system, especially affective and neurodegenerative disorders.

1 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of (R)—N-(6-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)pyrimidin-4-yl)-4H-1′-azaspiro[oxazole-5,3′-bicyclo[2.2.2]octan]-2-amine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 
     
     
         2 . A method for the treatment of schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease, cognitive disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's Disease, or diabetes comprising administering a therapeutically affective amount of (R)—N-(6-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)pyrimidin-4-yl)-4H-1′-azaspiro[oxazole-5,3′-bicyclo[2.2.2]octan]-2-amine to a patient. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  directed to schizophrenia. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2  directed to Alzheimer's disease.
