Abstract

A one-piece mat adapted to be erected to form a front seat organizer or a trunk organizer is disclosed. The one-piece mat can further be folded to a smaller size for storage.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An organizer assembly, comprising
 one-piece mat, having first and second surfaces, adapted to be erected into a first and/or second container for holding articles on a supporting surface, comprising
 (a) a bottom panel, in direct contact with the supporting surface when being erected;
 (b) multiple bottom panel extension panels, foldably connected to the bottom panel through a first plurality of folding interfaces, and each bottom panel extension panel having a pair of non-parallel legs, said bottom panel extension panel foldably connected to two neighboring bottom panel extension panels on the non-parallel legs through the first plurality of folding interfaces;
 (c) multiple side panels, foldably connected to the bottom panel extension panels through a second plurality of folding interfaces and each side panel having a pair of non-parallel legs foldably connected to two neighboring side panels on the non-parallel legs through the second plurality of folding interfaces;
 (d) a first plurality of attachment elements, disposed on the first surface of the side panels, and a second plurality of attachment elements, disposed on the second surface of the of side panels, wherein the first surface and second surface are opposite surfaces of the one piece mat; and said first and second pluralities of attachment elements can releasably attach to one another to form the first or second container; and
 (e) wherein when the one piece mat is erected to form the first container, the bottom panel extension panels and multiple side panels jointly form supporting sides of the first container; when the one piece mat is erected to form the second container the bottom panel extension panels and the bottom panel jointly form the bottom of the second container.

         2 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein attachment elements comprise multiple mate pairs to releasably attach the side panels.

         3 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein attachment elements are not the same sizes.

         4 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first and second pluralities of folding interfaces have widths of 2-15 mm.

         5 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one piece mat can be folded to a two-dimensional object having a geometry and area substantially the same as the geometry and area of the bottom panel.

         6 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one piece mat has a non-slip surface.

         7 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the second attachment elements comprise mate pairs having length about 50-99% of the width of the side panels thereof.

         8 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one piece mat further comprises a pair of handles on the second surface.

         9 . The organizer assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the one-piece mat has a water-proof surface.

         10 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first container can hold weight up to 25 KG.

         11 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the second container can hold weight up to 7 KG.

         12 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one-piece mat is rectangular shaped when it is laid out flat.

         13 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , further comprises a thermal carrier.

         14 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , further comprises a collapsible shopping cart bag.

         15 . The organizer assembly of claim 14 , wherein the collapsible shopping cart bag has a side pocket sealed by a zipper.

         16 . The organizer assembly of claim 1 , further comprises a bag to store the one-piece mat after it is being folded to a reduced size.

         17 . A method to erect a one piece mat from its flat state to a first container,
 wherein the one-piece mat has a bottom panel, foldably connected to four bottom panel extension panels, which are further foldably connected to four side panels, comprising the steps of placing the flat one-piece mat on a supporting surface, having a first surface facing away from the supporting surface to become the interior of the first container and a second surface, attached with a pair of handles, facing towards and in direct contact with the supporting surface, wherein part of the second surface becomes the exterior of the first container; lifting up side panels and bottom panel extension panels according to a first group of folding interfaces and placing them perpendicular to the bottom panel ( 100 ); attaching mate pairs on the second and first surfaces of the side panels to form attachments, wherein the mate pairs are loops and hooks of Velcro attachments; forming the first container so that the bottom panel becomes the bottom of the first container and the four side panels and four bottom panel extension panels become the sides or the walls of the first container, wherein the first group of folding interfaces have width of 2-15 mm.

         18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the first container can hold weight up to 25 KG.

         19 . A method to erect a one piece mat from its flat state to a second container,
 wherein the one-piece mat has a bottom panel, foldably connected to four bottom panel extension panels, which are further foldably connected to four side panels, comprising the steps of placing the flat one-piece mat on a supporting surface, having a first surface facing away from the supporting surface to become the interior of the second container and a second surface, facing toward and in direct contact with the supporting surface, wherein part of the second surface becomes the exterior of the second container; lifting up side panels according to a second group of folding interfaces and placing them perpendicular to the bottom panel; attaching mate pairs on the second and first surfaces of the side panels to form attachments, wherein the mate pairs are loops and hooks of Velcro attachments; forming the second container so that the bottom panel and four bottom extension panels become the bottom of the second container and the four side panels become sides or walls of the second container, wherein the second group of folding interfaces have widths of 2-15 mm.

         20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the second container can hold weight up to 7 KG.
