Abstract
A device for at least partially occluding an aneurysm is disclosed. The device includes a first elongate member having a distal end. A bridge is positioned proximate the distal end and transformable between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration. A second elongate member is movable relative to the first elongate member, the first and second elongate members being configured such that one can be moved relative to the other in order to transform the bridge between the delivery and deployed configurations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 19 . (canceled)
20 . An apparatus for implantation in an aneurysm, the apparatus comprising:
an insertion portion; and an expandable implant detachably coupled to the insertion portion, the expandable implant comprising a tubular member having a plurality of wire loops formed therefrom, the expandable implant having delivery configuration in which the plurality of wire loops are substantially linearly aligned in a tubular formation defining a delivery axis, and a deployed configuration in which the respective wire loops of the plurality extend radially outward and transverse to the delivery axis, wherein in the deployed configuration the plurality of wire loops include a first petal-like loop, and a second petal-like loop that at least partially overlays the first petal-like loop.
21 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein each of the first and second petal-like loops have a lengthwise dimension, and curved sides defining a non-uniform width transverse to the lengthwise dimension.
22 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the respective curved sides of the first and second petal-like loops are elastically deformable to define the respective first and second petal-like loops as the implant transitions from the delivery configuration to the deployed configuration.
23 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the first and second petal-like loops each include an electropositive metal.
24 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the first and second petal-like loops are constructed of respective wires comprising nitinol, platinum, tantalum, drawn filled tubing, or a combination thereof.
25 . The apparatus of claim 20 , further comprising a radiopaque marker coupled to at least one of the first and second petal-like loops.
26 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the expandable implant comprises shape memory material.
27 . The apparatus of claim 26 , wherein the shape memory material is a heat set material.
28 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the insertion portion comprises an elongated delivery member and/or microcatheter.
29 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein in the deployed configuration the expandable implant further comprises a third petal-like loop having a lengthwise dimension, and curved sides defining a non-uniform width transverse to the lengthwise dimension, and wherein the third petal-like loop at least partially overlays one or both of the first petal-like loop and second petal-like loop.
30 . The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein in the deployed configuration the expandable implant further comprises a fourth petal-like loop having a lengthwise dimension, and curved sides defining a non-uniform width transverse to the lengthwise dimension.Cited by (0)
